Thanks for uploading Image:Punica granatum with fruit in august.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|cc-by-sa-3.0}} to release it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Government ministers by country

Hello, would you care to document what you mean with "Government ministers". In principle, I guess, they contain the ones that are currently in the government, which gives a tremendous maintenance problem as this changes often (or do you mean ministers (such as category:ministers of France ?). The ones you included for Belgium are no longer active ministers. I think as is done in France Category:Ministers of the French Fifth Republic groups the politicians for each government, which is much more maintenance friendly. --Foroa (talk) 17:13, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your enquiry and your help with my work today (I am sick so have been fooling around here instead of working). I surely meant anybody who at any time was a minister of a national government. I would appreciate if you could state that where required. Is there any reason to use the other definition? In those countries in which there are many images of ministers, users from those countries can classify them according to governments. Really all I did was move media from the parent folder to sub-folders. There are another 180 to go. יעקב (talk) 17:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

It is a tricky business. Government ministers is redundant with the many ministers categories (some of which I dragged in quickly (unsorted) in your new Government ministers by country category to show you). To make things more complex, in some countries, they use the word secretary for ministers, in some other countries, they want to make a difference between federal ministers and regional ministers. I don't think that I have much experience (and time) to help you here, and the structures seem very much different from one country to another. I can help you with bot moves if needed. Thanks. I think the French Ministers should be moved to Government ministers as shoudl the Israel ministers. it would be nice to have them all have the same form. State ministers of course do not belong here. Some day someone can make a sepaarte category for State ministers by country if need will arise. And the Ministers from the Netherlands are clergy and have nothing to do with politics. What are state ministers for you ? (In belgium, it is a honory title for old proven statesmen). --Foroa (talk) 18:10, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

So in the Netherlands the Ministers should not be classified under politicians. I thought state ministers are ministers of a state in a federal country, such as the ministers of Alabama. If in Belgium they are proven statesman, they probably are mostly already classified as ministers anyhow. And if not, they can be in a sub-class. Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

יעקב, השקעתי מחשבה רבה בכל הקטגוריות של התמונות הקושורת בנשר. יש ערך מומלץ בויקיפדיה העברית. אין לי בעיה אם אתה מוסיף קטגוריות, אודה לך אם לא תסיר. כאלה שהכנסתי. ממש חבל לי על זמן ההשקעה בבקרה על העריכות האלה. מה מה שאתה עושה זה מבורך, אבל חשוב גם לא לאבד מידע. אם למשל היית מקשר את הקטגוריה של הכנסת ספר התורה בנשר לקטגוריה של בתי הכנסת בנשר, לא הייתה לי בעיה. תודה Hanay (talk) 08:27, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

West Bank

The West Bank is controlled by Israel for the last 45 years. For that reason alone, it needs to be cataloged under Israel. Furthermore, the West Bank is not controlled by the palestinian authority. Only about half of the West bank is controlled by the palestinian authority to any degree. In the other half, most of the habitants are Israeli citizen and Israel has full control. It is rediculous to catalog such areas under the palestinian authority and not under Israel. Please do not change things without agreement. יעקב (talk) 18:22, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

No, no: you appear to take it wrong in a rather amusing way I admit. Avoid changing things in a way that clashes with internationally accepted legal and political statuses. This should have made clear to you guys quite long ago, and now - you want to change the physical demarcations of the State of Israel? Please change them in REALITY first, that is - before applying any change here on this project. No nation ever has regognized the Palestinian territories as part of Israel; this fact is well-accepted by and backed on every Wikimedia publication, and you're respectfully requested to align with it as long as you're an editor here. I have opened a discussion at the city pump. Around the world there are many disputed regions. All of them are cataloged to all sides of the conflict. I brought you examples before. The West bank is no different.

As to what you call "Palestinian territories" there is no such thing. There is a paklestinian autority which is not a country, which has limited control of about 40% of the west bank. It claims to deserve sovereinigty over the west bank, but the internationally accepted position is that the status of the west bank is to be settled in negotiations between the parties in dispute, namely Israel and the West Bank.

Until a decision is made in the village pump, all your changes in this matter will be immediately reverted.

I also warn you that if you do not abide by the rules of the wikimedia projects the ban on your activity in the Hebrew Wikipedia will be extended to Wikimedia Commons. יעקב (talk) 21:50, 21 July 2012 (UTC)

Create Borgward and Borgward Group articles

@יעקב Hi dear Jacob! Since you are a native Hebrew speaker and I was unable to create successfully the draft for Borgward to become an article, please can you create Borgward article yourself but restoring the draft that was deleted: טיוטה:בורגווארד by asking Hayden: היידן and correcting the language and grammar errors made (since I added photos and references). I tried my best to make it fine for becoming an article. On Hebrew Wikipedia there are articles for Borgward models: (Isabella, B 611, Hansa 2400, B 3000, Isabella 2017 Concept, Hansa 1500, BX7, B 622, B 4500, P100, Borgward RS, FW200) and not for the main car manufacturer.
