Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content).

You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.
There are several tools to upload files.
Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful.

Made a mistake?

Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it.
Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Yasu様、ご連絡が遅くなり申し訳ありません。吉野美奈子のモニュメントに関する写真が削除対象になったとのことなのですが、草間彌生さんのウィキサイトなどにも存命作家の日本国内展示中の写真が掲載されております。勉強不足で申し訳ないのですが、これらの写真と異なる部分、または何か写真に入れなければならないタグ（？）のようなもの、あるいはクリアすべき条件などがあるのであれば、ご教示いただけますと幸いです。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。神明宮大木 (talk) 17:38, 28 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

存命作家であれば著作権が有効ですので、その作品画像をコモンズにアップロードすることは原則としてできません。これは吉野美奈子だけでなく草間彌生も同様であり、本来は草間の作品画像もアップロードは不可です（今回ご指摘をいただいたので、草間の作品画像についてはいずれ私のほうで削除依頼を出します）。どうしてもコモンズで存命作家の作品を公開したい場合、作者本人または著作権保持者より、当該作品をフリーライセンスで公開させてもらえるよう許諾を取り付けたうえで、その許諾内容を問い合わせ対応ボランティアチーム (VRT) へメールで転送するという手続きが必要です。なお、神明宮大木さんがアップロードされたファイルのうち、File:Minako Yoshino's Holocaust Memorial "Children reading a history book" 2018.jpg や File:Minako Yoshino "The Sleeping Mermaid" 2015.jpg などについては、この VRT の手続きが完了しているため、上記の削除依頼には含めませんでした。

すでにご存知かとは思いますが念のため、VRT の詳しい手続き方法については上記のページをごらんください。ちなみに、いったん削除されたファイルを復活させたいときは、再アップロードするのではなく、VRT の手続きを行ったうえで削除撤回依頼を出すことになります。これは、削除依頼を経て削除されたファイルと全く同じものがアップロードされた場合、方針によって即時削除の対象となるためです。ご注意のほどお願いします。

ただし、VRT の手続きには時間がかかるため、ウィキペディア日本語版の記事にすぐに反映させたい場合には、ウィキペディアに直接アップロードするという方法もあります。この場合、ウィキペディアの屋外美術を被写体とする写真の利用方針に従う必要があるため、画像の解像度（ピクセル数）を制限したり、ファイルページに作者名や作品名などを明示したりなどの条件が課せられます。また、ウィキペディア日本語版以外のプロジェクト（他言語版のウィキペディアなど）では使用できません。それでもよいのであれば、ご検討の価値はあるのではないかと思います。ご参考になれば幸いです。Yasu (talk) 14:58, 29 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
