Selam. Vikipedi'deki maddede 5 Eylül yazıyor. El yazısındaki 1'in kısa çizgi olduğunu düşünmüştüm, isterseniz siz de Vikipedi'ye bakın. Dosyayı söz konusu maddeye "15 Eylül" yazıp koymuşum ve 5 Eylül'e dokunmamışım (dalgınlıktan ötürü). Selamlar. Bu STT'yi gördüm de, bir şey demek istedim. Oradaki "Midlands" aslında "merkezî topraklar" gibi bir anlama sahip. Özel bir ad değil, adını bir yerden almıyor. İspanyolca, Latince gibi Vikilerdeki kullanımlara bakarsan mesela onların çevirdiklerini görebilirsin. Midlands, Kuzey İngiltere ve Güney İngiltere diye üçe ayrılıyor kabaca ülke. Yani "Batı Midlands" gibi bir çeviri, "Central Bölgesi" gibi yarı Türkçe yarı İngilizce bir çeviri olacak :) Midlands'ın Türkçe çevirisi muhtemelen vardır, onu kullanmak yerinde olur. Nanahuatl, Midlands yerine kullanılan Türkçe bir karşılık göremedim kaynaklarda. Daha çok şuradaki gibi Batı Midlands kullanımı var Türkçeleştirilmiş olarak. Bu bilgi notunu da not düşelim STT'ye, gerisine karışmam artık. --𐰇𐱅𐰚𐰤 (talk) 20:45, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

Ufak bir ek daha yapayım hatta. İngilizce Vikipedi'de Scottish Highlands diye adlandırılan bölge de var mesela. "Midlands"a benzer bir adlandırma, orada da "yüksek" anlamı var. İngilizce Vikipedi yapısı gereği "doğal anlam ayrımı"nı tercih ediyor ve parantez kullanımından mümkün mertebe kaçınıyor ("Danıştay (Türkiye)" değil de "Türk[iye] Danıştayı" demek gibi düşün). Aslında yalnızca "Highlands" olarak adlandırılan bir bölge, madde adı "Highlands (Scotland)" olmalı normalde. Neyse. Bizde burası Kuzey İskoçya diye açılmış, alakasız aslında :) Hayır onu geçtim, madem öyle, Scottish Lowlands de "Güney İskoçya" diye açılsaydı en azından uyum olurdu ama o da İskoç Ovası olarak mevcut :) İkisi de alakasız adlar. Türkçe karşılıkları yoksa zorlamaya gerek yok, "Highlands (İskoçya)" gibi şeyler tercih edilebilir. Benzer şekilde denk gelince haber vermek istedim.--Nanahuatl (talk) 21:11, 17 September 2021 (UTC)

Selamlar. Şu dosyaya denk geldim de. Mahmutlar, Alanya'da yer alıyor burası. Çok detaylı araştırmadım, ama bizde maddesini de göremedim. Selam @Nanahuatl: . İnternette doğru düzgün bir kaynağa rastlayamadım, çok enteresan. Google'daki konum yorumlarında bir kullanıcının tarihî olduğuna dair bir yazısı var sadece, başka bir şey yok. Hiç değilse maddeye ekledim.

Commons'u tanıdıklarıma önermek istiyorum. Ama Türkçe aratınca pek iyi sonuç çıkmıyor. Örneğin: Green and orange diye aratınca çok güzel sonuçlar çıkıyor. Ancak Yeşil ve turuncu diye aratınca sonuç çıkmıyor. Sanıyorum kategorilerle alakalı. Green and orange kategorisinin başına Türkçe açıklamasını ekledim. Ama değişen bir şey olmadı. Acaba zaman geçince veritabanı mı güncelleniyor? Velhasıl sormak istediğim şey, Türkçe aramalarda daha iyi sonuç çıkması için neler yapabiliriz? Selamlar, Turk ansiklopedici. İngilizce tabanlı ortak bir projede olduğumuz için Türkçe konusunda (diğer milletler de kendi dillerinde) sıkıntı yaşıyoruz burada. Yalnızca Türkçe ada sahip ortam dosyalarını görebiliyoruz aramalarda. Yahut sayfalara Türkçe yönlendirmeler oluşturulmuşsa onları görebiliyoruz. Örneğin yeşil diye arattığımızda Yeşil Burun sayfası sonuçlarda çıkıyor, buna tıkladığımızda da yönlendirme vasıtasıyla Cabo Verde'ye erişiyoruz.
