Wiki Loves Monuments in Thailand in 2017 edit

Hi Athikhun.suw, I see there is a landing page in Thai but none in English. In the CentralNotice we link to the one in Thai, but there also must be a page or summary where the rules and how to participate in contest is available in English. Can you make sure people that do not speak Thai can read somewhere how to participate in WLM in Thailand in English. Thanks! Romaine (talk) 17:03, 31 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Set of images edit

Hi. I am revising all the national WSC finalists now that the final phase is close to start. I see in this page no finalists in the "set of images" category, am I right?

Can I help you to create a summary page and decide them? I see a lot of possible candidates in your categories. Tell me if you have time.--Alexmar983 (talk) 23:22, 5 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2017 is open! edit

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.

Dear Athikhun.suw,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.

Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee 11:32, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Finalists edit

Hi Athikhun,

I noticed your edit on Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2018_winners#Thailand. I also noted that you already had winners available on 2 November (which was more than a day after the official deadline, but we may have been able to be flexible for that one day - if you had reached out). This is especially painful, because you never seem to have submitted them to the international jury. Unfortunately, the Thai pictures are therefore not part of the finale. In order to learn from this for next year, could you clarify whether you are a member of the Wiki Loves Monuments mailing list, and received the instructions of Erina? Did you get my private "urgent" reminder? Did you attempt to submit them, but didn't you succeed? I'm trying to understand what went wrong, so that we can avoid this painful scenario for next years. Thanks. Effeietsanders (talk) 02:17, 25 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images and other files on Commons must be under a free license and should be useful to the Wikimedia projects. To allow others to use your files, some additional information must be given on the description page. Most importantly:
  • Describe what it is about in a short sentence. (What does the image show?)
  • State the author and the date of creation. If you made it yourself, say so explicitly. If it is from another Wikimedia user, link to the person's local user page. Best to use CommonsHelper.
  • If you did not create the file yourself, state the source you got it from.
  • Add a copyright tag - images without an appropriate license tag will be deleted.
  • Add the image to one or more gallery pages and/or appropriate categories, so it can be found by others. To find out where an image belongs, you can use CommonsSense.

If you copied the file from another wiki, please copy all information given there and say who uploaded it to that wiki. Use CommonsHelper.

It is recommended to use Template:Information to put that information on the description page. Have a look at Template talk:Information for details of the use of this template.

You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file.

Please add as much information as possible. If there is not sufficient information, the file may have to be deleted. For more information, follow the Commons:First steps guide. If you need help or have questions, please ask at the Help desk.

Thank you.

Thanks for uploading File:Wiki Loves Earth 2023 in Thailand Banner.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Categorization WSC2023 Thailand edit

Hi, I just want inform you that your file for WSC2023 were uploaded originally in the existing category of Thailand, but due to no final feedback from the local organizers, they were put (according to the rules) to the "rest of the world" category. The country will be removed soon from the finalists template. Alexmar983 (talk) 19:55, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
