Hi Babu,

The metadata from File:29 January Romanian protest10.jpg (same for some related images) shows that this image was originally published on Facebook. Did you publish them on Facebook yourself or how did you get permission for reuse.

Thank you very much for your reaction. We normally do not accept indirect permissions. Would it be possible for you and your friends to verify these permissions using Commons:OTRS? Yes I know OTRS is not always optimal. Another option, if the facebook pages are open to be seen by everybody, is that they publish the image with cc-by-sa in the description (or in a comment chain after asked if they release the image). Then Template:LicenseReview can be used to verify the permission. This option is prefered over OTRS (by me) if possible. Basvb (talk) 18:19, 16 April 2017 (UTC)

Photos of picture panels on Calea Victoriei

Hi Babu, there might be problem with many of your uploads in Category:Walking on Calea Victoriei. Per Commons:Freedom_of_panorama#Romania there is no freedom-of-panorama exception from copyright for photos installed in public space. In addition, it seems that these picture-panels are not permanently installed. Therefore, you need to research for each visible photographic image on these panels, who is the original photographer and when did he/she die. Alternatively, you need the information, when each image had been first-published/created and whether eventually the original copyright is already expired.

I have no wish to delete these images, which are likely of value for Wikipedia and for history in general. However, we have to try to respect the copyright of its original authors. I think it should be possible for you (and would also be of value for the use of these images) to obtain information at least about the year of creation of the original images (when they have been shot). With the help of other users from :ro-Wikipedia you may then be able to determine — based on Romanian copyright-law — how long the copyright might last. As you shot these images yesterday, you could eventually still contact the people who put the original photos on these panels and who might have more information about them. --Túrelio (talk) 10:37, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

Indeed, the images are valuable for Wikipedia and especial for ro.Wikipedia. I'll try to follow your advice and - as this will last - please feel free to delete the pictures; I can upload them again after (and if) I'll manage to obtain needed information. About these two 1 2, the blue basal sheen makes them look like C. osiris. Are you sure that they are minimus? (Have you seen the upperside of the wings?) --LamBoet (talk) 17:36, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I'm not the author of the photos, I'm just the uploader. I've noticed that this one is similar with "my" Cupido minimus (the same blue basal sheen). But I'm not an expert. --Babu (talk) 18:44, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Hello! I saw that you have renamed Category:Gaudeamus 2011 to Category:Gaudeaumus 2011, but the name of the fair is Gaudeamus, see the official website at gaudeamus.ro. Monthbyyear

Hello Babu, you have added an extra "0" before the number of the month. The documentation of the Monthbyyear template advises to use just the number of the month - see the example. Sorting works well without extra zeros, the template adds a zero in front of month numbers that are under 10. --Estormiz (talk) 05:27, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

I removed the zeros and if look at the Category:2001 in Romania by month, you can see sorting works. Sorting also works in case there is no "Year by month" category, see Category:1998 in Romania. But in case the year category is mixed with pages with a zero and without zero, the sorting does not work. I guess it could be possible to alter the template so that it wouldn't matter which way one fills in the template code. --Estormiz (talk) 17:18, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
