Map

Hi Bill, according to this map, the Manbij area is under complete and sole SAA control now (no SDF control). Your map is showing that area under joint SAA/SDF control (shaded). Can you please update your map accordingly? Thanks, Amr ibnu Kulthoum عمرو بن كلثوم (talk) 23:58, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

I doubt the factual accuracy of this map, it shows Tal Rifaat as under full SAA control yet there is still SDF presence there. Bill497 (talk) 10:21, 1 November 2019 (UTC)

Hey bill, regarding the Idlib region, i am seeing conflicting sources on where Rebel/HTS actually control. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Front_for_Liberation%E2%80%93Tahrir_al-Sham_conflict the whole area was subjugated as Maarrat al-Human was surrendered 1/10/19. May I see your sources for partial NFL control of Idlib region?

That map is misleading, HTS never took over the entire NFL-SNA areas. It established political control over those regions. Bill497 (talk) 06:58, 2 March 2020 (UTC)

Overwriting an existing file should not be done except when making minor, uncontroversial corrections, so the file has been restored to its previous version. If the file that you attempted to upload is within our project scope and is in the public domain or published under a free license, please upload it again under a different name. Thank you. Please read the COM:OW policy. The original uploader is User:AntonSamuel (Special:Permalink/417743766) and you are overwriting their file with yours. You can upload your map under a new name as a different file. Map of article Rojava

User AntonSamuel has disruptively changed the contested regions of this proto state by using primary sources and edit warring which lead to the map he placed being locked. I am blocked on Wikipedia and cannot change the map myself. Can somebody change the map of Rojava on Wikipedia to this? Thanks. Bill497 (talk) 17:11, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

@4nn1l2: I'm not sure what the rules say regarding a Wiki Commons user canvassing users here to change a Wikipedia page when the user is blocked himself on Wikipedia, but it certainly is a violation on Wikipedia to canvass ([2]) AntonSamuel (talk) 17:25, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Wikimedia Commons should not be abused to facilitate struggles related to other projects such as Wikipedia. User:Bill497 should immediately stop abusing Commons in this manner. Commons has no jurisdiction over Wikipedia, but if any of the above-mentioned users act as a proxy for Bill497 (who is now blocked on English Wikipedia) to edit Wikipedia articles, they may face sanctions on Wikipedia. 4nn1l2 (talk) 17:40, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
