You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content: images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. File:Vero Bernardo Tanucci.png seems to be free (or it would be proposed for deletion), but it was identified as having a wrong license. Usually, it is because a public domain image is tagged with a free license, or because the stated source or other information is not sufficient to prove the selected tag is correct. Please verify that you applied the correct license tag for this file. If you believe this file has the correct license, please explain why on the file discussion page.

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

avrei bisogno di aiuto non so come scrivere a Rutheven e non ho capito cosa altro devo fare. Non mi è chiaro quello che suggerisce questo messaggio.

L'immagine che è attribuita erroneamente a Bernardo Tanucci in un museo dal 1926 è riportata erroneamente in molti libri, ad oggi non esiste un libro che la associ correttamente a Domenico Cattaneo. E' necessaria una comunicazione del museo per correggere l'errore che ha causato, sono in attesa di una comunicazione del direttore, informato via mail il 26 gennaio 2020.

Ri-ciao. Vicino alla mia firma, qui sopra, c'è un piccolo (msg). Contiene un link alla mia pagina di discussione. Altrimenti, puoi anche scrivere, più semplicemente {{ping|Ruthven}}.

Non serve l'informazione di un direttore, serve una pubblicazione cartacea o digitale. Qui non facciamo ricerche originali, perché aprirebbero la porta a qualsiasi mostruosità, ma ci basiamo su fonti pubblicate affidabili. Se una cosa non è scritta su un libro, per noi è come se non esistesse. Se un quadro è attribuito male dappertutto, allora è "giusto" così. Il massimo che posso fare, è indicare nella pagina del file che l'attribuzione è forse erronea, ma non si può cambiare perché non lo scrive nessuno. Quando il catalogo della biblioteca correggerà l'errore, allora si potrà correggere anche qui. --Ruthven (msg) 17:33, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
