DRBot is not archiving the Commons Deletion request from July till October edit

Dear Bryan!

I noticed that the DRBot is not archiving the Commons Deletion request from July till October, 2008. Why ist that? --ALE! ¿…? 08:20, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It might be that the toolserver's database is having issues. J.smith (talk) 17:53, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Bryan! Are you there? Any answer? --ALE! ¿…? 10:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fixed, I think. -- Bryan (talk to me) 22:31, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hm, so far nothing happend. --ALE! ¿…? 18:05, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
The only things that I see are non-standard deletion requests where more than one image is requested or the same image is requested twice. Another one has the {{Delh}} header substituted, which won't work either. Nothing wrong I guess. -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:59, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, then probably most closed deletion request are non-standard for the months July to October?!? This is not so good, because it meens a lot of manual work. I'll see when I will have time for that. Sigh! --ALE! ¿…? 09:03, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Dear Bryan, it's me once more. Well I was manually archiving a couple of files. Doing that I noticed that a big amount of deletion requests were removed by DRBot from the daily listings but were never archived. Only one example: DRBot removed all these requests from Commons:Deletion requests/2008/07/08 but were never archived under Commons:Deletion requests/Archive/2008/07. So in principle the Bot works but does its job only to 50% ;-). Could you please fix this? Thanks! --ALE! ¿…? 22:44, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Any news on that? --ALE! ¿…? 08:29, 18 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
Some time ago we switched to daily archive pages, so that archive should be on Commons:Deletion_requests/Archive/2008/07/08. If I did it correctly it should have distinguished between "old-style" and "new-style archiving", but of course you can never be sure that I did ;) -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:11, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have "fixed" the Archives from July 2008 on. The monthly page now only links to the daily archive pages.I hope that is ok. Did the new style start in July? I never noticed that change. --ALE! ¿…? 21:37, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello Bryan, are you there? If you could look at this I'm sure you would make a lot of admins very happy. It's hard to work out what needs to be closed since it means scrolling through long pages of overdue deletion requests each time to find the remaining open ones that need action. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 14:01, 23 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

The last edit of Bryan was on November 22nd, 2008. I hope he did not leave for good. --ALE! ¿…? 22:19, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I set it again to re-read all deletion requests from June on. It should then cleanup old deletion requests. Unfortunately it sometimes just starts to randomly skip pages and I have not yet found out why. -- Bryan (talk to me) 19:14, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Two questions about DRBOT edit

  • In this diff, DRBOT has notified an uploader a second time, although I had notified him previously.
  • Could we use DRBOT in order to notify the users who upload picture not themselves but by using an upload bot ? This would be very convenient because at present when you nominate a picture with the "nominate for deletion" link, the link's script posts the {{Idw}} warning on the upload bot's talk page instead of the user's talk page.

Bot not workin edit

Hi there, I currently cannot access the Flickr upload bot. An error occurs when trying to access the website. It says: Page not found (404). Any reasons? Thanks. Mohsin (talk) 19:09, 4 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm getting this as well :( --Closedmouth (talk) 14:37, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Me too :-( BruceMcAdam (talk) 20:33, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Flickr2Commons does almost the same thing. --Apoc2400 (talk) 22:58, 5 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

OTRS edit

FYI. I guess user:CommonsDelinkerHelper is acting oddly. --J.smith (talk) 18:20, 6 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flickreviewr broken edit

It appears to be reviewing images (somewhere), and if they don't match the original, it uploads the correct size. That's fine, but it appears to be uploading the new images in new locations - see File:Undra tires 2.jpg as an example, or any of the notices of missing source/licence on the bot's talk page. -mattbuck (Talk) 16:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I blocked the bot, please see [1]. When you fixed the bug give one of the admins a nudge to set it free again. Multichill (talk) 23:55, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is also claiming licenses don't match, regardless of whether they do or not. For example; this image. Not as big an issue, but looks silly to anyone checking the licenses. Ikara (talk) 02:17, 17 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Flickrbot malfunction edit

Dear Bryan,

DRBot edit

Hi Bryan

Are you back? Could you have a look at #DRBot is not archiving the Commons Deletion request from July till October, above? DRBot has not been behaving well for some time. A query by ALE! has also been posted at Commons talk:Deletion requests#Archiving of requests. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 15:49, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your bit is back on edit

Per your request. See this note. Welcome back, even if temporarily only. You were sorely missed! ++Lar: t/c 20:02, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

mwclient edit

I have written a patch to mwclient that include noredirect (see) option to the move def. If you can put it in the official version it can be used by a script that i written for the italian wikipedia, sorry for my english --FiloSottile (talk) 15:11, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I used mwclient with this to Dload Fr-pronunciations. Now I would like to know if I there is any way to sync my repository against the server?

Thanks, 76.69.250.102 17:56, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

mwclient edit

Hi Bryan,

In http.py line 122:

   return self.pool.request(method, location[1], path,
          headers, data, stream_iter, raise_on_not_ok, auto_redirect)

This didn't work for me because it sent out the redirected request but didn't get the response. I replaced it with the following line:

return self.request(method, location[1], path, headers, data, stream_iter, raise_on_not_ok, False)

I set the auto_redirect flag to false; this will prevent an infinite recursive loop.

Regards,

Karen

Cleanup time? edit

Hello Bryan, I bumped into this and I was wondering if we should cleanup that page once in a while or whatnot. I noticed that it has been accumulating messages for a long time now. Cheers, Patrícia msg 12:37, 12 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi - maybe you can redirect this message if you're not the right person to contact.

I have a wonderful new idea and want to prevent it from being copyrighted or locked up by anyone else - how do I ensure that it remains free for all? It is:

"Obama's Law: Anything that can go right, will go right."

This is so intuitively obvious once you have seen it, that it may not need any protection in order to remain free to the entire world. But what do you think? I've already emailed it and mailed it do dozens of people, telling everyone that they can use it any way they wish (and they can make a profit from it if they wish).

Alvast bedankt!
