Problem with Flickr upload bot edit

I used the Flickr upload bot to upload 3 images from Flickr. The bot correctly added license info to the page, but it's been more than a day and the actual image hasn't been uploaded. Here is the relevant info for the three images.

Thanks for looking into this! LinguistAtLarge (talk) 03:32, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Just wanted to drop a note saying these images have still not been resolved. LinguistAtLarge (talk) 07:08, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

The same happened also with the following images:

Thanks in advance! BR, --Apalsola tc 19:08, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I managed to upload the images by undoing the Flickr upload bot edits and then retrying the upload (like this). That worked! --Apalsola tc 22:41, 6 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tip Apalsola. That worked for me as well. LinguistAtLarge (talk) 20:14, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

[Mliw.jpg] Photo for the Modern Life Is War Wiki Page edit

The picture, which I uploaded for the Modern Life Is War page, was reviewed on 06:17, 6 May 2009 (UTC) by FlickreviewR, who found it to be licensed under the terms of the All Rights Reserved, which isn't compatible with the Commons.

The photo license has since been updated to the Creative Commons Attribution 2.0 License. I just wanted to update you on the situation, as I did not want the photo to be deleted.

Thank you very much,

The file on Flickr is licensed under CC-BY-NC-SA (attribution, non commercial, share alike) which is also incompatible with Commons. Unless the license on the Flickr page is changed or permission is obtained to license it under CC-BY or CC-BY-SA, the file will be deleted. --Yarnalgo (talk) 06:24, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Problem with image upload edit

Hi, I'm having a problem with File:PAOK - Olympiakos 1-0.jpg http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:PAOK_-_Olympiakos_1-0.jpg (tokenId: 48596). I have used Flickr upload bot but when i click on the link to "complete the upload" it shows me " The image page on Commons was never editted by the user who issued the upload" , although i have edited the image page twice. What should i do? --Lapost (talk) 09:59, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

I finally uploaded the image using Flickr2Commons. --Lapost (talk) 10:07, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image won't upload edit

If there's any way you can let ppl know how long it will take for an image to upload, it'd be great, since I've tried uploading the same image three times. The image in question is of HRH Eugenie of York located at http://www.flickr.com/photos/guitarstrummer56/2970288706/. It's a better quality version than the one currently in the article. Let me say that I really appreciate your attempts to provide this service, but it seems to be severely lacking in performance. I've used it several times before very easily, although it always seems to take several minutes for images to upload. The image pages are always created just fine, it just takes a long time for the image to arrive. I'm remarkably annoyed at this, and while I understand that you've got a life of your own other than dealing with things like this, it's frustrating when a service isn't working. If you could at the least give some idea of the wait time for an image to upload, it would be wonderful. And it'd be best to overestimate the time, to avoid ppl like me from getting frustrated. You can find the image page here http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Princess_Eugenie_of_York.jpg. Please resolve this issue if possible, or at least place a notice that there may be a several hour wait.Jonjames1986 (talk) 10:43, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Picture Question edit

The below link is a pic I took at the Denver Zoo, the title was changed to a Green-winged Macaw from a Scarlet Macaw. I am by no means an expert, however, I am fairly confident in my identification. Thanks

So is there a question? --Yarnalgo (talk) 06:52, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think it is a request to change the file name. But as I read "the Red-and-green Macaw has characteristic red lines around the eyes formed by rows of tiny feathers on the otherwise bare white skin patch; this is one of the biggest differences from a scarlet macaw to the casual viewer" on en:Green-winged Macaw, I think the naming on Commons is correct. Anyway, I will leave a message on the uploader's talk page User talk:Snowmanradio. Teofilo (talk) 15:18, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
The lines of red feathers on its face indicate that it is not a Scarlet Macaw. Snowmanradio (talk) 15:29, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

FlickreviewR and PD-USGov edit

Hi Bryan. Recently the Official White House photostream on Flickr changed its license from CC-by to United States Government Work. FlickReviewR does not recognize that license, despite it is equivalent to {{PD-USGov}} or {{PD-USGov-POTUS}}. Lobo   (howl?) 19:45, 20 May 2009 (UTC) P.D:Sorry for my EnglishReply

DRBot edit

Hi. This bot is a joy. However, to the end of improving it, I have a feature request. See here. These redlinks are (obviously) a product of the nonexistence of the pages in question; they originate from the following snippet of wikitext:

{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/06}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/07}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/08}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/09}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/11}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/13}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/14}}
{{Commons:Deletion requests/2008/11/20}}

While your bot's automated archival of DEL is of massive benefit, I think that adjusting the coding so that each daily object has an #ifexist: parserfunction attached would be quite useful. Something like

{{#ifexist: Commons:Deletion requests/yyyy/mm/dd|{{Commons:Deletion requests/yyyy/mm/dd}}|}}

would probably be sufficient. Thanks for your time and I appreciate any help here. —Anonymous DissidentTalk 08:43, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

FlickreviewR edit

Greetings -- We'd be interested in running FlickreviewR on Wikitravel Shared, but the source code appears to be missing? Alternatively, it would be fantastic if you'd be willing to run the existing bot on Wikitravel as well. Jpatokal (talk) 03:22, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Small edit on the Flickr upload tool form edit

Hello Bryan,

Maybe you would find useful to add a small "(tips)" link on your Flickr upload tool as follows :

Please give the image a filename that describes the image and add categories to the image (tips).

Nowiki : ([[Commons:First_steps/Upload form#4. Set an appropriate file name|tips]])

This (tips) link was added on the main upload form as discussed on COM:VP#File name guidelines. Teofilo (talk) 11:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
