Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Gracias por corregir esos detalles del escudo de la Escuela de Cadetes, supongo que usted tiene la descripción heráldica oficial, podría por favor ponerla en la tabla de información del archivo, he relizado los blasones de varias instituciones de la Fuerza Pública, y me gusta que tengan su descripción oficial. PD: ¿La torre es de una o dos ventanas? casi todos los ejemplos visuales muestran una sola ventana, por lo general en la heráldica una torre se representa con dos ventanas, y si es de oro, sus ventanas y puerta son de azur, a no ser que la descripción indique lo contrario. Muchas gracias! Al fin tenemos la descripción, el usuario Baiji trató mucho de conseguirla, le escribió a todo el mundo, solo le contestaron que estudiaran su petición, no se cual es el misterio por una descripción. Por casualidad ¿ese artículo de la revista menciona algo sobre los elementos externos? (Timbre, Lambrequines y Divisa). La descripción solo dice una "torre de oro", como no indica nada mas se sobre entiende que tiene dos ventanas y que junto con la puerta deben ser de azur; los ejemplos visuales que conseguí [1], tomados de medios oficiales, no me inspiran confianza pues todos difieren en detalles, por lo general estos escudos son dibujados por personas que no saben nada de heráldica, por consiguiente no saben interpretar una descripción (por ejemplo el escudo Nacional usado en los medios oficiales no cumple al 100% con lo indicado por la ley), no se sí poner las dos ventanas y la puerta de azur, ¿usted que me recomienda, debería hacer ese cambio? En File:Flag of Trujillo Alto.svg hay varios defectos. No se si tienes tiempo para trabajar en ellos.
Creo que es importante ya que se usa en varios artículos.

1. Las montañas no deben parecer piramides.
2. Debe haber más montaña, menor tierra.
3. La cruz debe ser más grande.

Puedes ver en pr.gov para como debe parecer el imagen en la bandera de Trujillo Alto.

Hola nuevamente estimada @The Eloquent Peasant: Ya aplique los cambios solicitados, sin embargo, considero que las "hojitas" son innecesarias debido a que la descripción de la bandera solo hace referencia al ave:

"La bandera de Río Grande consiste de dos franjas horizontales de igual tamaño unidas por un triángulo blanco colocado del lado del asta. La franja superior es de color verde y representa las montañas de esa zona. La franja azul representa el río Espíritu Santo y alude al nombre del pueblo. Sobre el triángulo blanco aparece representada una cotorra puertorriqueña ya que es dentro del territorio de Río Grande, y específicamente en la Sierra de Luquillo, donde subsisten aun algunos ejemplares de esta especie endémica en peligro de extinción."     (Boricua Online, 2020)

Trataré de encontrar lo que me pidio. Otra sugerencia tengo sobre la imagen, bendito. Si no es molestia, la rama del arbol donde está parada la Amazona vittata no debe ser tan curvada - debe ser más derecha. El color azul no parece ser igual. Carlos, aquí un enlace que describe la bandera en el sitio que mantiene un archivo de las leyes de Puerto Rico. Este sitio me parece confiable. Se llama lexjuris y tiene una página para cada pueblo (municipio) de Puerto Rico donde describen la bandera y otros simbolos de los municipios.--The Eloquent Peasant (talk) 12:44, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Me gusta mucho Carlos. Muchísimas gracias. Si quieres ver donde a veces te mencione puedes ir aquí. No sé todavia como irá de ahora en adelante con nuestro colega, a quien tuve que reportar, y lamento que en verdad, nunca estaré segura ya que me causó demasaido innecesario trabajo y malos ratos como por un mes - ya ni me importa y en verdad, no espero nada bueno de él. Imaginate, que pensarías despues de un mes en esto. Hasta archivos buenos fueron borrados a causa de el. No me siento bien por eso. Pero gracias, a ti por ser tan bueno durante este caos, gracias por trabajar bien conmigo y con Yarfpr. . No sé si es normal que otros usarios "arreglen" nuestros archivos como hicieron con TA. Yo pensé que eso solo se hace cuando el autor ya no responde o se ha desaparecido de Commons, pero honestamente, no sé. Saludos, Carlos. Al igual que The Eloquent Peasant, me gustaría hacerle una observación acerca de la bandera del municipio de Quebradillas. Verás, de acuerdo a la página oficial del municipio, me temo que las ondulaciones pudieran tener un pequeño error en el orden en que suben y bajan en cada cuadrante. Si se fija en el diseño que aparece en dicho portal, las ondulaciones blancas en el cuadrante superior (de izquierda a derecha) bajan primero, luego suben y así hasta culminar hacia abajo. En cambio, el orden de las ondulaciones se invierte en el cuadrante inferior: (de izquierda a derecha) primero suben, luego bajan y así hasta culminar hacia arriba. En el diseño creado por usted ambos cuadrantes tienen sus ondulaciones blancas subiendo y bajando hasta culminar bajando, por lo que me gustaría que tomara en cuenta ese detalle para una eventual corrección. Muchas gracias, Carlos. Aún hay un pequeño detalle en la extrema derecha de las ondulaciones blancas de cada cuadrante, pero desde luego están mejor que antes. Básicamente a lo que me refiero es a que en el cuadrante superior deben empezar bajando tal y como se encuentran actualmente, pero deben culminar también en la misma dirección, no hacia arriba como ocurre en este momento. En el caso del cuadrante inferior, deben iniciar hacia arriba tal y como se mantienen en este momento, pero deben finalizar también hacia arriba en vez de hacia abajo. El detalle es bien sutil y consistiría en agregar una ondulación extra para que se asemeje a la versión oficial. Yarfpr (talk) 23:45, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

SVG images

Hola Carlos, gracias por subir tus dibujos! Unfortunately, there seems to be something wrong with the options you are using Inkscape: almost all of your images bear an embedded invisible bitmap graphics. This is a failure, and all these files are tagged Bad SVG. This is not a reason to reupload any one of these files; but may be you can change something how you are using your Inkscape, for future pictures. -- sarang♥사랑 07:41, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi dear @Sarang: I put a invisible bitmap graphic in almost all of my images because I use the bitmap like a template to create the image and I do not know that this caused that the files was tagged with Bad SVG. License of SVG Cycling Jerseys

However, the shape is exactly the same as the file:Jersey yellow.svg that I created, and uploaded under CC-BY-SA. This means that if you create derivative works', you must

Could you make changes to the images you uploaded? You can do this very simply by adding the following line to the icons you originally created (and removing the current license template line)

If you based this icon on another icon than File:Jersey yellow.svg, you can substitute that and credit the creator thereof as well as the authors of the work they based their work on.

Thanks by your notification about files' license mistake. I change the license of all files mentioned. The images was uploaded but I did not notice the license and select the first of them.

In next days, I will upload new files based on file:Jersey yellow.svg and will set the license like you write previously. Once again, I apologize and thank you for your comment.
