First steps tutorial Our first steps tour and our frequently asked questions will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Please use SVG Thank you for uploading JR JB-10 station number.png! Did you know that Wikimedia Commons recommends the SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) format for certain types of images? Scalable Vector Graphics are designed to look appropriate at any scale, and SVG images are easier to modify and translate, helping Wikimedia to distribute knowledge to all of the world. A lot of modern programs support SVG export. If you encountered problems or have questions, don't hesitate to ask me, a member of the Graphic Lab, or the Graphics village pump. However, it will be also an improvement if you can export (save) this image in PNG format without artefacts and upload. Uploading images in SVG format isn't mandatory, but it would help. (To avoid any misunderstandings, please don't just put raster images into an SVG container as embedded raster.) Thanks, and happy editing!

svg画像にラスタ画像を載せないでください

CrossHatchさんが差し替えたFile:Nagoya Subway Logo V2 (Tsurumai Line).svgですが、jpgやpngなどのラスタ形式であるビットマップ画像を使っているためsvg形式（ベクタ形式）であるにもかかわらずベクタ方式の特性が生かせず拡大縮小でぼやけます。svg形式のファイルを差し替える際にはラスタ画像を使用しないようお願いします。--ButuCC (talk) 14:03, 3 August 2018 (UTC)

ライセンス情報更新のお願いについて

こんにちは。File:Number_prefix_Minatomirai.svgについて、更新いただきありがとうございます。新しい版にしていただいたとのことですが、ライセンス情報の原典はどちらでしょうか。初版データの原典[1]には当該ファイルの参考となるものがなかったのでお尋ねした次第です。新版を作る上での原典もしくは参考データ等があり、それ（写真を含む）を元に作成していると、それが原典となります。その内容についてご確認・反映くださいますようお願いいたします。ご不明な点があれば、お知らせください。--Araisyohei (talk) 15:47, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
