This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Mwanamalundi.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

File:Meena Ally.jpg edit

Hi there, you marked File:Meena Ally.jpg as your own work but I don't think it is. It looks like you screenshotted this from a video. If this is indeed the case, you should clarify that in the source. Thanks!

One and only warning edit

Hey! I have observed that you are adding arbitrary and irrelevant "depicts" tags to images, despite my reverts of some of them. If you do not stop that activity immediately I will report you to be blocked. --E4024 (talk) 15:17, 28 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Blocking edit

I have issues with your participation to Commons:ISA Tool/Challenges contest, namely

  • stacking empty edits to artificially increase your number of participation to the challenge, thus earning you the top 2 rank - ethically questionnable
  • adding completely irrelevant tags to images (probably randomly selecting structured data and clicking save in the tool), and not even removing them afterwards - which is simply said, vandalism

Of course, those wrong edits are "merged" with thousand of good edits, which are useful to the projects. But all the good edits can not magically make all the other "wrong" edits disappear since they are done in bad faith and actually damaging the wikimedia projects.

You may wish to see examples

Here are some of those

1) https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Orpailleuses.jpg&action=history In this case, not only did you add irrelevant tags, but you did not remove them afterward.

For example, in this case (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Orpailleuses.jpg&oldid=545932963), you left depicts such as

  • tea
  • legislation
  • Associated Oregon Loggers
  • Paso de los Libres Airport
  • aortic valve stenosis
  • etc.

Which are obviously totally irrelevant to the image itself.

2) Another example is : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pioneers_of_the_production_line,_these_two_young_workers_8e11170v.jpg In the history https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Pioneers_of_the_production_line,_these_two_young_workers_8e11170v.jpg&action=history We can see that you added a whole collection of irrelevant tags, and this gave a lot of work to another editor to clean up after him.

3) A last example is : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Unité_de_fabrication_de_charbon_de_bois_14.jpg
In this example, Killy and you edited a lot : https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Unité_de_fabrication_de_charbon_de_bois_14.jpg&action=history with lots of bad additions followed by removal, then additions again...

Ultimately, the statistics of editions of the image are quite... interesting... https://xtools.wmflabs.org/articleinfo/commons.wikimedia.org/File:Unité_de_fabrication_de_charbon_de_bois_14.jpg

According to this page, you made no less than 182 edits to this file and Killy 96
the current status of the page show that ... there is currently ZERO depict on this file. Which means you did 182 empty edits which should not be counted and Killy made 96 empty edits which should not be counted.
Note: Killy was actually CLEANING up YOUR mess

There are other examples, but those are sufficient to demonstrate you were acting in bad faith. I find additional quite bold of you to contact me by email to ask for the prize.

You should be ASHAMED of yourself.

Apologies edit

Dear Anthere I'm deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused during Isa competition. I reached out new users as I was campaigning the participation of our community members to different wikimedia projects, hence I had two college students whom I'm sure they used my account, since I logged in while teaching them. Few days I received an email from user:E4024 complaining about irrelevant depicts added using, I made follow up and realized the new user did such a shameful vandalism using my account. I knew something went wrong and I'm deeply sorry for whatever troubles caused. The act of writing an email wasn't made to claim the rewards but I was finding a way to talk this out. Czeus25 Masele (talk) 13:54, 20 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Anthere: I received an email with text similar to the above, requesting reconsideration of the block. --99of9 (talk) 23:07, 22 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
I did not see the user saying that he would clean up the entire mess. Unless he does promise to do that, and actually does it, I see no reason why we would unblock him. Anthere (talk) 09:26, 23 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
=>Hi Anthere, I tried several times to clean up the mess, I just didn't know how, I promise to do so when Instructed. Actually the contribution you saw as empty was me trying to undo the changes. So please send me an email with good instructions how I can do that. I'm still a Newbie in Commons and and I don't want to mess up like those guys.

Clarification edit

For the sake of traceability, this is a copy of an email I sent you on the 20th of April. I believe it summarize my position and why I am cautious.

I am trying to Assume Good Faith here. So your argument is that your account was compromised. Fine, let's say that might be. But...

1. I can track some vandalism from your account made on as early as March 11th (there might be some older edits, but I have not analysed all your contribution history). And I can track some vandalism from your account made as late as March 28th. That's really a very very very long time not to realize that other people are using your account.

2. I know user:A4024 complained to you on March 24th since he left a message on your talk page. You confirmed that you were aware of that since he also sent you an email. So even if you had not noticed others were using your account, by March 24th, you knew. So how can you justify the vandalism made on the 28th for example ? Usually, when an account is compromised, the very first step is to change the password. Apparently you did not do that to secure your account. So people go on using the account just like that ? Forever ? That sure confirms it requires full blocking.

3. You had the guts to reclaim your winning gift even though you knew (since at least 24th) that your account was compromised. You claim that your email was not to reclaim the gift but to just come to the news. Seriously... honesty would have been to contact us to say "eh, I know I am second, but my account was compromised, so ... I apology dearly and propose not to claim the prize". You did NOT do that. You did not voluntarily provide the info that you KNEW the account was compromised. This makes it very difficult for me to believe you say the truth when you claim your account was compromised

4. Last, and not the least... whilst you KNEW your account vandalised dozen of images description, you did not fixed it all. Believe me, if my account ever is compromised, I will go to every single edit one by one and fix it all one by one. Or I will publicly inform the community of the mess and beg for others to help me clean up. But I will not let knowingly a collection of wrong information on articles as you did.

I already provided you with some tracking info. Here is one more (there are many more). Look at this image : https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sèvres_-_Moulage-reparage_-_moulage_070.jpg Check out its history. And check out all the structured data information about it. It is suffocating.

This was done on March 28th. Three weeks later, the mess is still here. You did not clean up the mess. There are dozen, if not hundreds of images VANDALISED by your account and you KNEW it and did NOTHING to clean up.

At this point, I do not really care whether you were the vandal yourself or whether your account was highjacked, because when you knew... you did not secure your account, nor cleaned up the mess, nor told us about the situation.

So here is my suggestion... you are a member of the tanzanian usergroup. Get in touch with its leads. Make sure they show you how to edit a page, how to search for all your contributions, how to restore an old version of a page. The basics. And have one of them vouch here for your true and honest desire to help. When so, you can be unblocked. Sorry, harsh probably, but better for everyone. Anthere (talk)

1. User:Anthere|Anthere, I feel offended when you say all this was about 20 USD PRIZE. ( I have been volunteering since 2016 on this, spent more that what you are saying made me do this) Please read careful my email I sent you asking about the jury results and not prize, hoping that I would get a word from you on my position and waited to discuss with you the bottle neck of ISA tool counting even the worse contribution made, asking for your help how I could undo what had been done. I see you rather take it too personal that discussing whats on stake here. Will blocking me for one year gonna resolve what happened? NO. So if I'm willing to help why not allow me then monitor me in a period of time suitable for you, If you find it I'm not useful then block me even in a LIFETIME period.

2. I could not do any request of changing password because of my personal reasons, It happened when I requested username change back in 2016/2017 my account lost some of info and contributions, It took me time to make a follow up communicating with admins to resolve that.

3. I think I should leave this to you now, you may want to communicate with my community leads and make yourself comfortable about me. See you in 09:55, 20 April 2022. Czeus25 Masele (talk) 07:26, 28 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
