George XI edit
Hi. For those who take an interest in the Georgian history and bibliography thereof, it is well-known that the book authored by Vacheishvili contains an error. The image depicts Vakhtang VI, not George XI. Attire, regnal symbols, etc., all point to his being Vakhtang VI.--Kober (talk) 18:54, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't think its well-known at all. Attire? So what that Giorgi was a persian vassal, so where many other Georgian kings. Does not mean he should look like a pasha.--Deliafer (talk) 10:51, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
- FYI, "pasha"s were not Persian, but Ottoman/Turkish. Back to the biography of George, not only he was a Persian vassal, but most of his active career was spent as a Persian commander in Afghanistan, where he was not definitely supposed to wear or be depicted by contemporary artists in these flamboyant European clothes laden with Christian symbols. --Kober (talk) 19:32, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
