Please don't forget to add your images to appropriative pages and/or categories where other users could easily find them. For example Moscow, Category:Moscow.

Категории только по-английски. Перед тем, как изобретать новые, желательно внимательно рассмотреть уже существующие, может они уже давно существуют :-). Описание изображений лучше на всех известных Вам языках. Существуют специальные шаблоны для обозначения языка. Тогда предлагаю усовершенствование. Почему не сделать так, чтобы, зайдя в некоторую категорию, можно было бы грузить картинку прямо в неё? А то приходится открывать несолько окон и не очень удобно, плюс ещё сервер медленно работает. Кроме того, нет кнопки "категория" на основной странице закачки, приходится два раза заходить. Некоторые возражения :-) Во-первых до сих пор нет единства в мнении, куда заносить изображения: в страницы или категории. Во-вторых изображение может добавляться в несколько страниц/категорий одновременно.

Моя рекомендация - потратить некоторое время на изучение существующей структуры страниц/категорий и действовать потом по обстоятельствам. --EugeneZelenko 17:57, 8 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

There seems to be no reason for the arm at "2 o'clock" to be in the position as in your illustration, the wheel would have to rotate more before the arm and wright's center of gravity would be to the right of the hinge.

If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.

Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
