If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. - Not sure why you deleted my photograph of my Great Uncle Voughn Crawford Sorrells. I have made a worthy addition to this page and would appreciate it being put back. Since he is my Great Uncle, I therefore own copywrite to my own family photographs. Dsorrells (talk) 11:49, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

File:That Bradley Boy from the old road.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

- The photograph the you have marked for deletion and watermarked Sherrill Dean Teaster is in fact my name. Please replace the photograph as (I) am the rightful copywriter owner. Dsorrells (talk) 11:50, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- I see, it wasn't clear from the upload that you were claiming to be the photographer, you hadn't disclosed your connection to the theme park anywhere. You can follow the instructions at Commons:Undeletion requests to request that the image be restored - and the one mentioned in the previous talk section, if that was also removed in error. - thank you, just trying to learn all of this the right way. Dsorrells (talk) 00:03, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

- This postcard has fallen out of copywriter and is now public domain. The copywriter expired in 1988. Please replace the deleted file. Dsorrells (talk) 11:51, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

- I can't seem to find where the issue is. Can't find what was marked. Thank you for your help. Dsorrells (talk) 00:14, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
- Click through to Commons:Deletion requests/File:Sawmill operation in East Tennesse in the early 1900's.png to see the concern that was expressed. You can and should also respond to the discussion there, rather than here on your talk page.
- The issue is just that you haven't said where you got the photo from.
- It's almost certainly public domain wherever you discovered it, but there may be some unusual cases (eg. a known individual taking a personal photo in 1900 and keeping it private until selling the rights to a publisher in 1960) where the photo would still be under copyright, and Commons needs to be able to check that.
