Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

@NorthTension: Hello! Sure, ask away. I'll just say beforehand that the reason I tagged this file as no permission is because even if the vector image created is released under a free license, if the logo that was being vectorised is not, then technically it still falls under copyright. So would it be possible to have it be put under a non-free license rationale thing? I have no idea how to do that but it's on political party logos all the time on Wikipedia. NorthTension (talk) 15:26, 26 October 2023 (UTC)

@NorthTension: Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons are separate entities under the same umbrella organisation. Commons (this site) does not accept non-free files. Individual wikis might, although this varies. If the license is in doubt, I would recommend uploading them locally on Wikipedia (see here) rather than on Commons. Alright, do you have Discord or Telegram or some quicker to reach messaging service? It might be easier for me to discuss this and ask about specific examples over that, since I'm still genuinely confused as to why quite a few other things are considered OK but these aren't.

I understand this is a whataboutism but I just want to make sure these don't get nuked and we'll have to go through the whole rigmarole of uploading these again and ensuring that the copyright is right this time. I'm already on a final warning by Yann that he hasn't responded to me asking him about because I uploaded these files all on Farukh's behalf prior. NorthTension (talk) 13:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
