Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Please give images better names

I noticed you've uploaded File:PF130920-1603.jpg and I thought I should draw your attention to a common error. Please give uploaded files meaningful names. Otherwise they are difficult to track and it is hard to tell what the file is about without actually looking at it. I suggest you rename your image with an intuitive name that describes the file itself. Thanks, and happy editing!

Guten Tag,

vielen Dank für den Hinweis; inzwischen habe ich die Umbenennungen vornehmen lassen und auch Kategorien vergeben. Doch ist mir etwas aufgefallen, wobei Sie mir vielleicht helfen können.

Ursprünglich habe ich Dateien im deutschen Wiki gespeichert, fortan unter Commons. Zwischenzeitlich wurden ohne mein Zutun oder Wissen Bilder zu Commons verschoben. Jetzt erscheinen Sie aber weder in der einen, noch der anderen Liste meiner hochgeladenen Dateien. Wie kann ich sie nun finden, bzw. wo sind sie aufgelistet? Es ist z. B. diese; dort erscheint nun Benutzer "Mai-Sachme". Es gibt vielleicht noch weitere, wie findet man die wieder?

Andererseits erscheint bei mir eine Datei, die nicht von mir hochgeladen wurde; so sollte diese nicht bei mir (nur die mit dem Baum) erscheinen.

Guten Tag FkMohr (ich erlaube mir, dich zu duzen, wie es den hiesigen Gepflogenheiten entspricht), dazu kann ich folgendes sagen: Tatsächlich erscheint in den Logs jeweils der Benutzer, der eine Datei hier hochgeladen bzw. transferiert hat. Die Urheberangabe in der Dateibeschreibung bleibt dabei jedoch gewahrt, so dass alle deine Fotos auf Commons erscheinen sollten, wenn du mit der Suchfunktion den "File"-Namensraum nach deinem Benutzernamen FkMohr durchsuchst, hier ein Suchergebnis. Manche Benutzer legen Kategorien an, um ihre Fotos einfach auffinden zu können, ein zufälliges Beispiel wäre Category:Files by User:Achim Berg - das könntest du auch machen und diese Kategorie dann auch den Fotos hinzufügen, die von anderen Benutzern aus der deutschen Wikipedia hierher übertragen wurden. - Das Problem mit File:Hohe Kanzel.jpg ist offenbar des Resultat eines "Unfalls" - das Baum-Foto sollte ja eigentlich nicht über das gleichnamige Kartenfoto hochgeladen werden und steht jetzt unter File:Hohe Kanzel(Baum).jpg. Ich habe gerade versucht, File:Hohe Kanzel.jpg etwas aufzuräumen und zwei überflüssige Versionen gelöscht, aber in deinem Log erscheint der Upload immer noch - könnte ich wohl auch verstecken, wird aber für sowas m.W. eher nicht gemacht (nur bei grösseren Problemen, man will hier Transparanz). Du erhältst diese Nachricht, weil du bei Wiki Loves Monuments 2016 teilgenommen hast.

Auch in diesem Jahr beteiligt sich Deutschland wieder am internationalen Fotowettbewerb rund um Bau- und Kulturdenkmale. Bisher wurden bereits mehr als 18.000 Bilder hochgeladen – und wir würden uns sehr über weitere Bilder von Dir freuen. Noch bis zum 30. September 2016 kannst Du Deine Bilder hochladen. Alles Wissenswerte erfährst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Außerdem möchten wir Dich einladen, ab 12. September 2016 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese sichtet und bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Oktober tagt, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2016 in Deutschland.

Hallo Friedo, der Lizenzstatus von File:Riffelseehütte-SW.jpg ist nicht nachvollziehbar. Nach http://www.deine-berge.de/impressum.php bleibt das Urheberrecht beim Uploader Tom Hofer. Sonst habe ich keine Individuallizenz für das Bild auf deine-berge gefunden. Das Impressum bezieht auf alle Bilder der Plattform. In diesem Fall ist Tom Hofer der Fotograf selbst und hat mich seinerzeit per E-Mail beauftragt, dieses Foto auf Wikipedia unter eben dieser Lizenz hochzuladen. Das dachte ich mir schon so, aber aus der Bildbeschreibung ist es nicht nachvollziehbar. Wenn ich da einen Löschantrag stelle, wird das Bild aller Voraussicht nach gelöscht werden. Sicherer ist es, die OTRS-Freigabe nachzuholen. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 20:56, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Nein, habe ich nicht vor. Sonst hätte ich nicht hier geschrieben. Aber jeder kann das tun und es sind schon mal ein paar hundert Bergbilder gelöscht worden, weil der Uploader nicht mehr greifbar war und die Lizenz nicht sauber. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 11:16, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

Kleiner Tipp

stitching problem

@Herzi Pinki: Auch wenn ich nicht weiß, wie das Problem entstanden ist und was es bedeutet, so habe ich doch gleich gestern zwischen 10.59 & 11.05 Uhr die Annotation berichtigt (Änderung der Größe und Position war nicht möglich, daher zunächst gelöscht) und neue hinzugefügt. Das war auch erfolgreich und ich kann die Bezeichnung "stitching problem" nicht mehr sehen. Was genau wäre ein "verbessertes Stiching"? Gruß --Friedo (talk) 09:48, 17 February 2020 (UTC)

Einsortieren in Kategorien

Hallo FkMohr,

es macht m.E. keinen Sinn, zu einer Kategorie automatisch, d.h. ohne speziell gegebenen Grund, eine Oberkategorie anzugeben. Das heißt konkret: Das Grab von Titzenthaler liegt nun mal am Granbichler-Weg und der liegt im Rofental. So ist auch die Kategoriestruktur angelegt. Deshalb hat mein Bild “Titzenthaler Grabplatte Rofental.jpg” auch nur die Kategorie "Grave of ...". Einzige Ausnahme in der Kategorie “Grave of Waldemar Titzenthaler”, die eine weitere Kategorie hat, ist ein Bild, wo zusätzlich der Weg zu sehen ist. Ich interpretiere diese Vorgehensweise als Umsetzung von

Ausgehend von diesen bereits gegebenen Kategorien überprüft man die übergeordneten Kategorien oder die Unterkategorien, um eine geeignete Kategorie für die jeweilige Dateien zu finden. Dabei sollten zu allgemeine Kategorien vermieden werden. (aus Kategoriestruktur)

Dieses Vorgehen dient dazu, dass die Kategorien nicht zu groß werden.

@Whgler: Ja, dem kann ich folgen und das Prinzip ist mir auch klar. Erlaube mir aber bitte den Hinweis, dass ich zuvor nur die Kategorien Rofental & Grave ... gesetzt hatte und Du Rofental entferntest. Dann habe ich mal Dein eigenes Bild Rofental Weg Titzenthaler Grab angeschaut und dort stehen alle drei Kategorien. Nun sehe ich auch, dass der Weg dem Tal und das Grab dem Weg untergeordnet ist, so dass meine ursprüngliche Kategorisierung weniger "falsch" war als Deine. Da wäre vielleicht zu überlegen, ob das Grab diesem, nicht mehr nach ihm benannten Weg eher direkt dem Tal zuzuordnen ist. Das umso mehr, als dass ja gerade der Weg nicht mehr nach Titzenthaler benannt sein soll. Schönes Wochenende --Friedo (talk) 16:56, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Hallo,

zunächst muss ich Dir zustimmen, dass die Inklusion Titztenthaler-Grab in Granbichler-Weg in der Tat unlogisch ist. Dann müsste ja auch Rofen und Hochjochhospiz dort eingeordnet werden, was offensichtlich Unsinn wäre. Ich habe das korrigiert, also Grab nur direkt ins Rofental einsortiert, wo es neben dem Granbichler-Weg und -Denkmal steht. Bei dem Bild mit Grab (klein) und dem Weg ist damit die doppelte Einsortierung sinnvoll. So sollte es stimmig sein. Schönes Wochenende. --Whgler (talk) 18:24, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

@JuTa: Guten Tag, mir ist völlig unklar, was hier mit abgeleitetem Werk gemeint sein soll. Ich habe das Bild selbst 1967 aufgenommen und es auch selbst mit Lizenzangabe hochgeladen. Das Bild zeigt ein von der Berliner Verwaltung (vermutlich Senator für Verkehr) zur Information der Öffentlichkeit aufgestellten Schaukasten im öffentlichen Raum (hier Hermann-Ehlers-Platz in Berlin-Steglitz). Guten Morgen, außer Dir hat sich bislang niemand beschwert. Normalerweise verwende ich nur eigene oder solche Bilder, die es bei Wikimedia bereits gibt. Da ich selbst auch FotoPate bei SchweizMobil bin, ist die Vorgehensweise abgestimmt. Die Bilder sind ja bereits im Netz vorhanden und der Urheber wird auch genannt. In einzelnen Fällen habe ich auch Kontakt zum Urheber aufgenommen. Die kennen sich auch nicht immer mit der Bedeutung der verschiedenen Lizenzen aus. Solange der Fotograf (oder Rechteinhaber) selbst aber nichts gegen die Verwendung hat, sollte das Bild nicht gelöscht werden. In Artikeln würde vielleicht ein Link reichen, doch ein Bild ist anschaulicher und ich habe dann eine Commonscat eingerichtet, so das vielleicht mal Bilder dort abgelegt werden. Für die Artikel-Erstellung hat man sich mehrfach bei mir bedankt. Was ich anstelle der Panoramafreiheit eingeben soll, konnte ich Deinem Link nicht entnehmen. Kannst ja mal beispielhaft einen Eintrag vornehmen und mir mitteilen, bei welchem Logo das war. Also dann ein schönes Wochenende wünscht Friedo (talk) 08:57, 23 April 2022 (UTC)

Urheberrechtsverletzungen

Hi FkMohr, bitte stoppe das Hochladen von urheberrechtlich geschützten Bildern und lies Dir Commons:Project_scope/Precautionary_principle/de durch. Sollten dazu Unklarheiten bestehen, bitte stelle Fragen dazu. @Wdwd: Es wurden von Dir jetzt Dateien ohne eine vorherige Diskussion gelöscht. Teilweise liegen Genehmigungen vor oder waren angefragt. Unklar ist mir aber, wieso mein eigenes Bild "OJB-Geo-2K" gelöscht wurde. Ich hatte nur kürzlich einen Link zu einem eigenen flickr-Bild eingefügt, welches nicht hochgeladen wurde. Die Bilder sind auch nicht identisch, da viele Jahre dazwischen liegen und die Tafeln sogar ausgetauscht waren. Dieses bitte ich auf jeden Fall wiederherzustellen. Sei mir nicht bös, nur das stimmt so nicht.

1. Habe ich einige offene Löschdiskussionen wie Commons:Deletion requests/File:KreuzMairspitz.jpg und Commons:Deletion requests/File:KreuzMairspitz.jpg abgeschlossen. Da gab es also schon eine Diskussion. Freigaben fehlten dazu. Hinweis an Dich wie diese Freigaben zu machen sind habe ich gegeben.

2. Für die Freigabe, nochmals - grob: die brauchst Du für alle Werke die nicht Deinen eigenen Werke sind - folge bitte der Anleitung unter COM:VRTS. Randhinweis: die Freigaberklärung kann auch auf Deutsch geschickt werden. Nur eine Freigabe zu behaupten reicht nicht. Sondern diese Freigaben müssen vom Rechteinhaber erteilt werden, vom Rechteinhaber an das Support-Team geschickt werden und in Folge trägt das Support-Team (Kommunikation üblicherweise via Email) dann einen Hinweis bei der Datei ein, dass diese Freigabe so ok ist. Wenn es zum diesem Ablauf Fragen gibt, bitte gerne.

3. Das Bild OJB-Geo-2K war ein License Review von FlickR die nicht passte und nun ist die Datei unter Undeletion requests. Das passt, da will ich mich nicht einmischen sondern die Entscheidung einen anderen Admin überlassen.

4. Oben habe ich einige Dateien, welche Du hoch geladen hast, mit entsprechenden Markern zur Löschung versehen aber nicht gelöscht. Bitte versuche dazu von den rechtmässigen Urhebern die Freigaben zu bekommen. (-> und diese Freigabeerklärung via COM:VRTS abwickeln) Erklärungen dazu hat oben schon User:Herzi Pinki vorgenommen. Bitte beachte, dass bei Deiner Antwort und Statements wie "Solange der Fotograf (oder Rechteinhaber) selbst aber nichts gegen die Verwendung hat, sollte das Bild nicht gelöscht werden." gegen das hier gültige Prinzip COM:PCP wiedersprechen. Das Bild OJB-Geo-2K ist nicht von Flickr, es ist von mir aufgenommen und direkt zu Wikimedia hochgeladen. Mit "License Review" kann ich nichts anfangen. Ich hatte lediglich auf eine ältere Aufnahme (auch von mir) hingewiesen. Eine Rückfrage vor der Löschung wäre ja wohl möglich gewesen.

Bei "Gottardo-N" habe ich die Genehmigung für die zweite Version erhalten. Bei "KreuzMairspitz" hatte ich darum gebeten, auf die Rückmeldung der Sulzenauhütte zu warten. Friedo (talk) 15:09, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Hi FkMohr, zu obigen Löschanträgen (DRs) als Hinweise: Bin mal Deine Upload-Liste grob durch, es hat sich da leider einiges angesammelt - möglicherweise habe ich auch die eine oder andere Aufnahme übersehen. Ich habe im Ablauf Aufnahmen die im "Naheverhältnis" (Familie) aufgenommen wurden, auch Aufnahmen die eher privaten Charakter haben und möglicherweise außerhalb der Projektziele von Commons liegen, oder einfache Darstellungen die meiner Meinung unter der Schrankenregelung der Schöpfungshöhe liegen, ausgenommen. Die obige Löschanträge umfassen aufgrund der angegebenen bzw. fehlenden Daten offensichtliche und *kritische* Fälle (potentielle Urheberrechtsverletzungen) wo die Freigaben unter einer freien Lizenz der jeweiligen Urheber bzw. exklusiven Rechteinhabern fehlen.

Es wäre toll wenn Du da die Freigabeerklärung von den Urhebern veranlassen könntest. Zur Vereinfachung: Es braucht auch nicht für jede Datei eine eigene Freigabeerklärung. Es ist pro Urheber/Fotograf eine Freigabeerklärung mit Angabe einer Dateinamensliste ausreichend. Denn öfter sind von einem Urheber mehrere Bilder vorhanden und damit betroffen und die Zusammenfassung vereinfacht es für alle Seiten.

Wir haben auf commons einen relativ hohen Backlog/Rückstand bei der Abarbeitung von Löschanträgen. Es wird also wahrscheinlich (deutlich) länger als 7 Tage dauern, und selbst wenn die Dateien vor dem Einlagen der Freigaben gelöscht werden, können diese danach wieder hergestellt werden. Bitte deswegen keine Sorgen machen, es besteht kein Zeitdruck. Du kannst mich auch gerne anpingen, wenn Dir bekannt ist, dass Freigabeerklärungen daraus an das VRTS geschickt wurden - kann zwar keine maximale Reaktionszeit garantieren, kann aber bei der Abarbeitung gerne mitwirken wenn Andere nicht schneller sind...--Wdwd (talk) 15:55, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

bitte entschuldige meine falsche Kategorien-Änderung an Deinen beiden Fotos Bembel-18,4.jpg und BW-Schranke.jpg – und vielen Dank, dass Du sie so schnell bemerkt und repariert hast! Normalerweise bin ich bei solchen Änderungen sehr sorgfältig. Hier ist mir ein dummes Versehen dazwischengekommen: Es gibt in Lauda-Königshofen witzigerweise einen Bahnübergang, dessen Umgebung (Gebäude usw.) meiner Erinnerung nach ziemlich ähnlich aussieht. Daher meinte ich beim ersten Blick auf die Vorschau beider Bilder, „Ah, das ist doch (Lauda-)Königshofen und damit Baden-Württemberg.“ Die bereits vorhandenen anderen Kategorien zeigen allerdings, dass das ein dämlicher Irrtum war. Ich kann mich daher nur dafür entschuldigen und versprechen, in Zukunft noch vorsichtiger zu sein.
