I know it's been a long time, but: how can the pseudonym under which this was published be different in English than in German? May I assume that the English "John Stalüter" is simply an error? - Jmabel ! talk 01:21, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

"John Stalüter" is definitively wrong. No way, that a german painter in the context of Nazi Germany would choose an english name like "John". The pseudonym used was "Horst Schlüter", see also https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_ewige_Jude_(Ausstellung). You can find the name "Horst Schlüter" cited in Wolfgang Benz: „Der ewige Jude“ (Propaganda-Ausstellung). In: Handbuch des Antisemitismus – Ereignisse, Dekrete, Kontroversen. Volume 4. De Gruyter, Berlin 2011, ISBN 978-3-598-24076-8, p. 299. This is a reference book regarding the exhibition of the "eternal jew" exhibition. In my opinion the entry "Unknown (Pseudonym: Hans Stalüter / Horst Schlüter)" should be reduced to Unknown (Pseudonym: Horst Schlüter). --Flyingfischer (talk) 05:04, 17 July 2020 (UTC)

Could I ask you to make that edit yourself, rather than me possibly not doing quite what you intend? I'd be more comfortable with that.

Aside: in 1937, it was not so implausible a German might have used an English pseudonym. The English were counted as "Aryans", and at that date, it still looked like Oswald Mosley had a chance of taking Britain into the fascist camp. - Jmabel ! talk 19:31, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
