Copyrighted paintings edit

Are you sure you selected the proper copyright for the images you've uploaded (Image:Willy Reetz Pferde 1946.jpg, Image:Willy Reetz Portrait 1915.jpg, Image:Willy Reetz Portraitfoto.jpg, Image:Willy Reetz Alte Eiche 1947.jpg, and Image:Willy Reetz Vor dem Spiegel ca1928.jpg)? Even though you were the photographer that took the photos of the artwork, your photos must have the same copyright as the paintings themselves. I am not familiar with copyright law in Germany, but in the U.S. paintings published after 1923 are typically still copyrighted. Hopefully you know if they are still copyrighted? ~MDD4696 17:21, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

copyrighted pictures edit

Dear MD,

the oil pintings which were takesn as photographs are owned by my mother, Beate Fröhlich, who is the daughter of the painter, Willy Reetz. She owns the paintings and hence has owns the copyright for these. She decided to have the photos published on the web. I indicated this in the lables of the pictures by wirting that the photos were taken by Beate Fröhlich owning the paintings. This should remove any issue regarding copyright.

With best regards Jochen Fröhlich

Sounds good to me, thanks. Don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This automatically puts your name and the date. ~MDD4696 17:40, 13 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
