File:"Rebekah at the Well", Sunken Gardens, Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Hi, I've added a copyvio template to both those in response to your deletion request. This might get them deleted quicker. They are lovely images of a beautiful artwork - too bad they need to go! Kind regards, -- Deadstar (msg) 09:15, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deadstar - thanks for the kind words! Yeah, it might explain why images of this work have been disappearing in recent years   . Also, thanks for tagging with a speedy deletion   - it's surprised me... just a little, on the deletion request taking as long as it has.
Quick question for 'ya - having an image tagged as copyvio, that won't land my account in any hot water, will it? Don't want to end up on the bad side of Commons... but what has to be done, has to be done, I suppose   ~..... Hanyou23 (talk) 12:18, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Cookie for you
No it shouldn't - especially not because you applied the rules correctly - once you found out the images were out of bounds for Commons, you requested them to be deleted! I think you deserve a cookie for that   Kind regards, -- Deadstar (msg) 12:30, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Oh, my edit to speedy delete as copyvio was just reverted ("Process ongoing"), there is another template added to go into the "fair use" upload to (presumably) en: wiki? -- Deadstar (msg) 12:45, 30 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Deadstar - you know, it's crazy what has happened with those two photos... I didn't know there was a such thing on Wiki :p ! Learn something new everyday - that's the case, isn't it ^_~ heh. Also, thanks so much for the cookie ^_^ (I love them :D !!!)! Cheers ^^ ! Hanyou23 (talk) 21:55, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrol given edit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Green Giant (talk) 01:31, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Green Giant - wow, thank you so much ^_^ ! One of the biggest things I try to abide by it being honest and trustworthy :) . I hope to be able to continue earning trust from others down the road... eventually ^_~ (it's a big world / Wikipedia world out there :p ~). I say it so many times, but thanks much again and again ^^ heh~
(as a side note, a couple of the links you listed above - I thought to myself - "Wow, I didn't know there were such behind the scenes things at Wiki - quite the operation :o !" heheh ;) ~ anyways, cheers ^^ ~) Hanyou23 (talk) 17:35, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome. Yes there is a lot more behind the scenes than just uploading files. We have patrollers looking for copyright violations, mass-uploaders uploading hundreds or thousands of files at a time, bots doing repetitive tasks, license-reviewers checking the licenses of files from other websites, and OTRS volunteers checking emails. Then beyond Commons, there are the other 900 wikis like the multiple language versions of Wikipedia (encyclopaedic articles), Wiktionary (a dictionary, believe it or not), Wikiversity (higher education materials), Wikibooks (things like cookery books, how-to manuals), Wikinews (news, unsurprisingly), Wikiquotes (famous quotes), Wikisource (source texts), and Wikivoyage (travel guide). There are also several multi-lingual wikis like Meta (coordination), Wikidata (links between other wikis), Mediawiki (the software that Wikimedia runs on), Wikispecies (directory of species), a whole host of affiliated national chapters like Wikimedia UK, and a bunch of Wikimanias (annual cult gatherings where Wikimedians worship the concept of wikis and listen to fables about our Holy Founder, Jimbo Wales, the First of His Name). In fact there is a Wikimania taking place later this month in Mexico City. It is about as complex as humanity in general and I tend to discover a new wiki every few months. However, most people tend to stick to one or two wikis where they do most of their editing. :) Green Giant (talk) 18:31, 4 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Green Giant Really sorry about the late reply - got really Wikibonked there during the summer months (things got a little troublesome around the house, too - wife pregnant and unhappy with the world >< ~) but things are slowly returning back to normal :) ... especially since the seasons are changing and I'll be trapped inside more :/ heh :p .
About those pending deletion photos you had held back for a while - the University just passed the buck and didn't want to deal with all of the licensing stuff :( . It was worth a try... I might try to bug them again, but I think I've had my current run with FoP ~_~ . Just cityscapes and riverbeds sound like good things to stick to right now :p heheh.....
Also, as to what you typed above - that is quite the list I never new existed @o@ ! Sticking to a couple, I think, is optimal for not getting overloaded - there is always so much going on in life to begin with... before it even comes to the internet ~o~ ~
Well, slowly I'll begin to getting back to uploading some additional photos and work over on Wikipedia. If I ever do take a stab at getting permission for those couple of photos again - I'll let you know if I'm successful or not ^_^ .
Many thanks again and cheers :D !!! Hanyou23 (talk) 20:38, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Note from Andy edit

Hey, got your note about the Lincoln Airport photo. I hope I'm doing this reply the right way. Curious who you are, from the LNE days. Drop me a line sometime! andy at andyring dot com.

Thanks for uploading File:City of Lincoln Nebraska flag 2022.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page.
