- I've nothing to say on the bunch of autographs / signatures marked for deletion (which includes some by you and also some by others). The only thing in the event of deletion decision, one can get the feeling that I uploaded 1000s of images before I went to sleep and found only OOO in the morning while only 1 or any other forerunning number was missing when I woke up!!! Hallo Hinduistanilanguage. "File:Plock9 DSC0024.JPG", "File:Plock8 DSC0023.JPG" and "File:Plock18 DSC0033.JPG" → Plock is "Płock" city with many historical objects and buildings in Poland. "DSC0024", "DSC0023" and "DSC0033" are only automatic camera numbers with zero informations over the city and historical adresses in the city of Płock. Navré de ne pas parler anglais avec suffisamment d'aisance pour vous répondre dans la langue de Shakespeare mais je trouve particulièrement surprenant que vous tolériez que des fichiers portent un nom erroné de sorte qu'ils induisent confusion et méconnaissance pour l'ensemble des utilisateurs de Commons. Je ne doute pas que vous connaissiez mieux que moi le département où j'habite, lequel je m'efforce de faire connaître à quiconque par la photographie en le sillonant du nord au sud et d'est en ouest. Pour m'être rendu tant à l'église N.D. du Juch qu'à la chapelle N.D. de Kérinec je puis vous affirmer que vous vous trompez. Vous voudrez bien m'indiquer les raisons valables, touchant au fond et non la forme, pour lesquelles vous encouragez une erreur aussi grossière d'identification d'un monument historique finistérien. Que vous vous réfugiez derrière des règles formelles de renommage d'un fichier reste une chose louable en soit, mais que cela se fasse au préjudice de l'honnêteté intellectuelle la plus élémentaire, à savoir la connaissance réelle et personnelle de la chose photographiée, ne me semble guère tolérable. the file doesn't show the church of Le Juch but the chapel of Our Lady of Kérinec. This is not the same municipality (Le Juch/Poullan-sur-Mer). There is one error of identification. This is why the name of the file must be changed. You can see the category "Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Kérinec (Poullan-sur-Mer)" and "Église Notre-Dame du Juch" to have the proove. What is the matter with you ? You refused to change the name of files who are wrong, saying that there is not valid reason. Apparently you never come in Finistère and you don't know the vilages and monuments of this area. Please, don't try to make opinion if a file must be renamed or not if you don't know the things. The truth must be done on Commons and you encourage the error. Lots of people know better than you the history and the monument of the area where they live. I come from brittany, i live in Finistère, i work in the administration. So, i know very well my country, especially religious monuments of this part of France.

- While I agree that I've erred on the above file, some of our friends have misspelled 'Wemen' as the correct word for "Women" in some of the other files, I remember correcting at least 9-10 such files. As regard to any other mistake which I might have done, please let me know where I've erred. I assure you that there will not be any repeat, especially when the mistake is too glaring to be ignored. My idea was just to calm the user from a panic or shock. IS IT WRONG TO PASS A SYMPATHETIC COMMENT SUCH AS THIS ONE?
- As regards to moving "Thinking man 2" to "Thinking man", I as an uploader was forced to name the file "2" because there was another copyvio "Thinking man" file. Once the copyvio file was deleted, I exercised my option both as the uploader (Criterion # 1 of Commons:File renaming) and filemover to rename it to "Thinking man". If you still feel I've erred in these moves in some specific manner in line with Commons traditions, please let me know so that I avoid it in future. Hi VIGNERON, if you carefully see this history file, the rename requester has suggested renaming without any reasoning (esp numeric value). Hence you also see the text in red : This request is incomplete! You need to provide a value between 1 and 7 which corresponds to the file renaming criteria! (change) . - I guess I might've missed "Erreur de localisation: chapelle sise en Carantec et non Morlaix" partly because of my lack of French comprehension and I will have take such inputs into consideration in future. I see that a while back, you moved File:SAM.jpg to File:Robert Venturi.jpg and added categories related to the architect of that name and to the Seattle Art Museum. They seem to be taken from the Library of Congress, so it would really be better to trace them back to the LoC site, which has bigger image versions and much more detailed descriptions. Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2012 Picture of the Year competition is now open. We're interested in your opinion as to which images qualify to be the Picture of the Year for 2012. Voting is open to established Wikimedia users who meet the following criteria:
- Users must have an account, at any Wikimedia project, which was registered before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC].
- This user account must have more than 75 edits on any single Wikimedia project before Tue, 01 Jan 2013 00:00:00 +0000 [UTC]. Please check your account eligibility at the POTY 2012 Contest Eligibility tool.
- Users must vote with an account meeting the above requirements either on Commons or another SUL-related Wikimedia project (for other Wikimedia projects, the account must be attached to the user's Commons account through SUL).
Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. From professional animal and plant shots to breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historically relevant images, images portraying the world's best architecture, maps, emblems, diagrams created with the most modern technology, and impressive human portraits, Commons features pictures of all flavors.
For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topic categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you can vote for as many images as you like.
