Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Question

I am confused as to what you mean. Are replacing an image with a higher resolution of the same image? If it is a different image of the same subject it should be uploaded as a seperate file. If you provide more details or link to the image in question then that may help.--Canoe1967 (talk) 13:38, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

No, it's a new picture, but it has the license plates of cars. iXavier (talk) 22:03, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

I don't think you need to. Commons has many car pictures with plates showing. We normally don't censor images. There is discussion going on now about blurring faces in some images, but very few of those. One is an image called 'obese child' for an obesity article so we don't label him. If you call the image 'drunk driver' you may have to blur the numbers type thing.--Canoe1967 (talk) 23:13, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

You are very welcome. You should try and upload it uncropped (full size) and another cropped version if that looks better in articles. You never know who may want to use the full size. Try and keep all the EXIF data as well for future reference.--Canoe1967 (talk) 02:22, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
