Connecting with other Apache's lost in the western Culture edit

Finding a page that is for Apache's, and I am of the Lipan tribe, is rather different than most place on the Internet.

Living outside of the rez and knowing only one or two Apaches in Riverside, CA. is a far cry from being surround by ones culture and people. We have been raised that we are not Apache's in a single unit, but as a body of people.

And being of mix breed, half Apache and half French adds to the feeling of not being all there!

Since my father went to prison and died in prison, I've become a part of the Western culture, but with strong pull from my Apache Heritage.

I remeber the Rez, and family as child, and have fond memories of that part of my life, but the world is coming to an end as far as being an Apache, as my children and grand children have no interest of that part of their heritage.

I miss the gatherings, the story tellers, the long nights with big fires where I would fall asleep taking it all in and then awaking eary in the morning to fry bread, goats milk and beans with chile.

I remember my grandfathers religious practice and I practice it along with him every summer when we would visit, since then I have since move to the next step by of my belief and became a Christian, but practice the Christian practice with the Apache rites, this was followed by me becoming a Minister in the Christian faith, but in I still practice my Apache rituals in privite.

I saw no conflict between the two, practice and I saw that the one was the fore-shadow of the other, and so I still use my feather, my smoke to cleans, praying to the four corners by myself for my self. I have found that my Lipan Heritage helped me see that the practice of the Old Testament were the same, and that traditionaly Y'shu'a did the same. For it is a personal God as it is with our people, and all that I do in my prectice is keep it personal.

Hello, Ish ishwar!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Thanks for uploading File:Shogidokoro.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Yes. I was looking for something more specific. However, it only has a general statement. So, it doesn't fit your templates as far as i can tell. Ish ishwar (talk) 19:31, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful information about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

This message was added automatically by MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner), if you need some help about it please read the text above again and follow the links in it, if you still need help ask at the   Commons:Help desk in any language you like to use. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 21:09, 21 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

hi. I provided the copyright information. It's not clear from your message what the problem is (which is one of the problems with these generic messages). Please be more specific about this issue? Ish ishwar (talk) 03:15, 23 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

CropTool edit

In the future, I would appreciate it if you used CropTool to crop images. This tool allows users to crop images already on Commons without having to download the images. It also makes sure that, if necessary, the file has already passed license review. It also properly links the images to one another, in case an issue with them comes up later. Shogi photo crops edit

Hi Ish ishwar. Thanks for adding these to various articles; however, it's better to create a separate file if you're going to crop an existing Commons image. You can do this using COM:CROPT or you can do it on your computer and then re-upload the cropped version to Commons. If you seem upload an updated version of the file, it will be replaced on every page on every WikiProject where the file is being used, and in some of these cases the cropped version might not be the desired version. It also makes it much difficult for someone to use the non-cropped version. Doing something like this also might be considered a substantial crop which should be avoided if possible. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:23, 18 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

File:Female SHOGI Professional Momoko Kato(left) Sae Ito(right).jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
