Cats for petrographical files

Not all images are only an artistic picture. Some images of rocks have a special geoscientific message. Adding a category is not a problem. Sometimes the deletion of a category is unfavorable. That was only marginal. A lot of thanks. :-) Best regards --Lysippos (talk) 15:25, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Category:Barnsley fern

Hi. You have added Category:Fractals by type to Category:Barnsley fern. but it is a subcategory of Category:Iterated function systems which is in category Category:Fractals by type. See history. Regards --Adam majewski (talk) 19:44, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Error in file "Place T10 (Paris), pignon école.jpg"

On my computer and on my web browser (Firefox 14.0.1), the file Place T10 (Paris), pignon école.jpg "cannot be displayed because it contains errors". Please don't remove the template {{Broken file}} I put in it just because it can be displayed on your computer. It doesn't work on my computer so there is clearly something wrong with it or something that prevents it from working properly. It doesn't matter if it is the file that causes the error or if it is my system that is incompatible with it; the two are equally bad and people who want to use the image on any Wikimedia site should be aware of that fact that not all web browsers can display it. The problem is obviously on your computer and you should fix it, not blame a file which by the way is correctly displayed by Firefox 14.0.1. --Coyau (talk) 22:02, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

It is obviously on my computer? Well can you tell me what the problem is then maybe I can fix it. Look, all I'm saying is that the file can't be displayed in every web browser and on every computer (which is not good), I'm not blaming the picture. Firefox on my computer says that the file contains errors, which users should be aware of. I don't know whether Firefox's error message is correct or not, but perhaps someone who sees this template instance knows why this error occurs and can fix it. —Kri (talk) 22:44, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

Category:Reflections of the Sun in still water

Hi, you added the category Category:Reflections of the Sun in still water to File:Sunrise at al-Masjid al-Nabawi.jpg, but that's not still water, so I removed the category, and the category is empty right now, and it should be deleted unless you find an image to add to it. --Z 11:54, 25 June 2014 (UTC)

HDR

Hi. I have a question. There is a Category:Tone-mapped_HDR_images. It includes : " Images which have been converted from High Dynamic Range (HDR) to Low Dynamic Range using tone mapping". So these are LDR images. It's parent categoryis HDR. Is it mesleading ? Maybe better name should be: LDR crated from HDR using tone mapping" ? I have checked few images from HDR category and it seems that most of these are LDR. What do you think about it ? --Adam majewski (talk) 14:38, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

I'm not an HDR expert so I don't know what the correct thing to do is, and I have no own opinion about it. Maybe "Tone mapped HDR images" is in the "HDR" category because they where created from HDR images (or correspondingly, many LDR/SDR images).
