Hello. I came across this, which seems like it must have been an error. I hope you can redirect it to the correct target. --R'n'B (talk) 18:50, 17 January 2019 (UTC)

Wrong license on painting uploads
Hi Maltaper, I noticed you are using {{Cc-by-sa-4.0}} on uploads of old paintings like File:Corot - A Breakwater in Normandy (L’Estacade Normande).jpg. That's incorrect. The source actually lists it at "Copyright 2018 Southampton City Art Gallery All rights reserved". You can't just make up a Creative Commons license. You should be using {{PD-art}}. Please have a look at Commons:PD-Art タグを適用する場合. Multichill (talk) 13:43, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
- Read Commons:PD-Art タグを適用する場合. Multichill (talk) 13:56, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- You still seem to be using wrong licenses (example) and you never responded to my messages. Maybe I need to block you to get your attention? Please respond. Multichill (talk) 21:15, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
I haven't just understood copyright very well, and uploaded files through Upload Wizard without copyright notice. My uploads are limited to artists died more than 70 and works on the catalogues raisonnés. In most cases I should use {{PD-art}}. --Maltaper (talk) 13:39, 14 July 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:L'Œuvre d'Antoine Watteau, 1735.pdf. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. Catalog of Van Dyck paintings
OMG I just saw this and it made me cry! Thank you so much for this work. When I have time I will try to help, though I don't have the Erik Larson one, only the Lekturama one (from earlier in 1980, and lists 966 works). Jane023 (talk) 10:50, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Swapped images
Hello Maltaper, in the following two files, the images are swapped:
You can confirm this by looking in the Delteil catalogue, pp. 90, 91.
I can't work out the right URL to upload the correct images, perhaps you can do that or somehow swap them?
The images are also swapped in the source website, so you will need to take account of that if uploading them again from there:
- The Woodcutter (has the Scrawl image)
- Scrawl (has the Woodcutter image)
I will send the art gallery an email tomorrow, it is getting a bit late for me to do that tonight.
Thank you. --Mirokado (talk) 23:07, 16 May 2020 (UTC)

Artwork template
Hi Maltaper, I noticed you upload quite a lot of art, but don't always use {{Artwork}}. I guess it's because you sometimes use the upload wizward. Maybe you can switch these files to the artwork template after upload? A quick and easy trick is to replace "{{Information" with "{{subst:Artwork/subst(information)|subst=subst:" (example). Thanks, Multichill (talk) 08:38, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo catalog raisonné, 1968
Good evening Maltaper
I discovered today the page Giovanni Battista Tiepolo catalog raisonné, 1968. CONGRATULATIONS !!!! You have done a great job !
If you can write below the pictures some information (e.g.: title - location - etc...) I can help you to complete the catalog with some missing item, but at the moment I cannot associate the number to the work. If you like, you can send me this information in a file (any format).
Thanks for your collaboration. YukioSanjo (talk) 19:32, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Category:Meryon (Delteil 017-A)
Hello. Could you please take another look at Category:Meryon (Delteil 017-A) and its contents? I believe this is a print depicting Charles Meryon, not one created by him. Félix Bracquemond was the artist. I'd make the edits myself, but I don't know the conventions. Thanks! - Eureka Lott 15:46, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- Here is the answer:
- 17-A. — CHARLES MERYON, par F. BRACQUEMOND
- 2e — Avec un quatrain, le nom, l'adresse de Meryon et la date, gravés par Meryon lui-même. --Maltaper (talk) 23:52, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification. I think I understand now! - Eureka Lott 15:15, 21 September 2020 (UTC)
Prints by Francisco de Goya...
Hi Maltaper. Thank for your good work on Goya prints.
- There are many uncategorized prints in the Category: Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. For example, we need to review: Category: Japanese prints in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Please, your help would be very good. Thanks for your contributions. Best regards --JMCC1 (talk) 06:57, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Categories nominated for deletion
Not sure what is the issue between you and user:Ruff tuff cream puff. Your recent creations have been nominated for deletion and I have rejected them at this time as there should be a reasonable time given for populating categories. That said, categories at that intense depth should only be created when they are necessary, not solely due to someone find a file and thinking that it can have a precise categorisation. Can I ask that you two to discuss what exactly is going on, and find a compromise position for the benefit of the wiki and to save patrollers, and administrators from unnecessary work. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 10:25, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not aware there is anything personal going on here, I've never heard of this user; there are a huge number of bad categories that I'm trying to format and it doesn't matter to me who created them. You might be referring to Category:Paintings by Jean Siméon Chardin by museum, which I have been trying to clean up and it looks like this user created it. Step one is that it is an orphan category tree, which is easily fixable, but step two is that is contains a huge number of small categories which will become either useless or redundant once the files themselves are categorized properly. The bulk of this category will be empty subcategories, which are generally deleted. If there is any plan to format all of this bulk to make it useful, let me know. Ruff tuff cream puff (talk) 10:59, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
- I have checked all images by Chardin to make Jean Siméon Chardin catalog raisonné, 1983. See no. 29: File:Chardin - Still Life With Cat and Fish, 1728.jpg and File:Chardin - Still Life with Cat and Fish, 1728.png. These are not the same image. Simpler way I took is categorizing these in categories Chardin + the museum. --Maltaper (talk) 15:26, 24 January 2021 (UTC)
