I invite everyone that wants to discuss or ask me something to just add a topic.

Institution:Europeana edit

Martsniez, The {{Institution}} template are for "brick and Mortar" institutions to mention where physically artifacts reside. Your Institution:Europeana template seem to be more of a source template to mention where the image come from. I think something similar to {{WGA link}} would work better for you. If you agree, I would like to delete Institution:Europeana. --Jarekt (talk) 03:00, 28 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jarekt, we are in a pilot/explorative process with Europeana. Europeana holds millions of images that could potentially be added to the commons. As of now the template only applies to 25 images. I will discuss your remark with Multichill. Who will do the ingestion of Europeana content in a few months. Is this okay? Cheers --Martsniez (talk) 11:29, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sure no problem. Good luck with Europeana project. --Jarekt (talk) 12:52, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Singapore PD tool? edit

Would you like to try and make one for Singapore? See "Commons:Licensing#Singapore". — Cheers, JackLee talk 09:56, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

It is not a simple as just making one. Check out the media page on http://www.outofcopyright.eu/media.html where you can see the documentation we've made on our 13 available jurisdictions. You can download one of our flowcharts there. If you create a flowchart in the same format (using yEd) using only the objects that are used those files we already made and have this flowchart checked by an expert on your jurisdiction we can use that for our calculators. Mind you, we have been working close to two years on making 30 jurisdictions available.
Oh, looks like I misunderstood your message at "Commons talk:Licensing" which said "A new calculator is relatively simple to build and add. I will require some authoritative source in your jurisdictions to verify a new calculator before I can add it to our site." I therefore thought it was quite a straightforward process. What is yEd? — Cheers, JackLee talk 10:16, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Once you have an authoritative source (e.g. copyright law professor/scholar) that is willing to put some effort into this than it is not that difficult. Please read our research pages to see how we developed these calculators.

Category:Pictures and images edit

Why are you putting images in a very non-specific category Category:Pictures and images? Following the name, you could put almost all files in that category. Jan Arkesteijn (talk) 12:13, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jan,
I believe I made a mistake. I used cat-a-lot in the wrong way I realize. I tried to update the cat by categorising all images created by him into that category. Sorry, How can I correct this?
Thanks for noticing! --Martsniez (talk) 12:18, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
I don't know of an easy way, I never use cat-a-lot. But maybe it offers the same easy way to undo what you did? Else, you will have to do it by hand. Jan Arkesteijn (talk) 13:36, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Fixed it, thanks again for noticing my nobery! --Martsniez (talk) 13:50, 31 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Beste Maarten,

Groet, --Martsniez (talk) 18:47, 15 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Martsniez (talk) 13:43, 29 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Vragen over verweesde werken edit

JopkeB (talk) 15:11, 17 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Kalshoven, Frank.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Kalshoven, Frank.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.
