Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Hallo Meinolf, das Foto hat durchaus Schöpfungshöhe und du solltest nicht dich als Urheber eintragen, wenn du 3 Zeilen höher schreibst, dass es von Häring selbst zur Verfügung gestellt worden ist. Auch der Datumseintrag ist sinnlos, dort sollte das Datum (Jahr) der Aufnahme stehen. Wenn du das Bild behalten willst, dann wird dir nichts anderes übrig bleiben als nach dem Urheber und dem Entstehungsjahr zu forschen. Gib mir hier bitte Bescheid, ob du das versuchen willst. Hallo Túrelio, sind nicht die Fotos von öffentlichen Personen urheberrechtsfrei, wenn sie von diesen selbst meinem Vater, dem Verleger Erich Wewel, zur Veröffentlichung übergeben wurden? Ich habe sie von meinem Vater geerbt und wollte jetzt die entsprechenden Artikel in der Wikipedia damit bereichern, was sicher im Interesse vieler Wikipedia-Nutzer und nicht zuletzt auch im Interesse der jeweils abgebildeten Person wäre, denn sie haben meinem Vater ja ihre Fotos für eben diesen Zweck gegeben. Wer sollte da irgendwelche rechtliche Ansprüche stellen oder etwas dagegen haben? Da die Bilder nur mit den Namen der abgebildeten Personen beschriftet sind, ist es unmöglich authentisch festzustellen, wer fotografiert hat und wann dies geschehen ist. Als Urheber habe ich mich nur deshalb eingetragen, weil ich die Bilder von den Fotos gescannt habe, und ein "Urheber" anzugeben war. Dass ich damit keinerlei Ansprüche erhebe, ist ausdrücklich erklärt. Das Datum besagt, wann die Fotos von mir gescannt wurden, denn ein anderes Datum ist nicht feststellbar. Sollten diese Bilder nun gleichwohl gelöscht werden, mache ich mir sicher nicht mehr die Mühe, Bilder aus dem Archiv meines Vaters bei Wikimedia hochzuladen. Ich warte also die Antwort bzw. Entscheidung ab. Es ist ein großes Manko, dass bei Wikipedia - im Unterschied zu anderen Enzyklopädien - die Personen, über die geschrieben wurde, meist nicht in einem Bild zu sehen sind. Hallo Meinolf, die Schiene "öffentliche Personen" hat nichts mit dem Urheberrecht zu tun, sondern betrifft das Persönlichkeitsrecht, was hier kein Problem ist. Ich zweifle keine Sekunde an deinen ehrenhaften Absichten (sonst hätte ich mir nicht die Arbeit gemacht und hier würde nur eine automatisch erstellte URV-Warnung stehen) und mir ist auch klar, dass beide Fotos von großem Nutzen sind. Aber wir müssen halt auch das Urheberrecht beachten und das verständliche "Wer sollte da irgendwelche ..." ist auf Commons gemäß COM:PRP ausdrücklich keine Lösung. Da in Deutschland die Schwelle für ein Lichtbildwerk (vs. bloßes Lichtbild) eher niedrig ist, müssen beide Aufnahmen als Lichtbildwerke betrachtet werden (was noch diskutiert werden könnte), was bedeutet, dass sie bis 70 Jahre nach dem Tod des Fotografen geschützt sind. Deshalb wäre es nützlich, das Aufnahmejahr und den Fotografen zu erfahren. Wenn dein Vater der Fotograf gewesen wäre, dann gäbe es kein Problem, weil du dann ggf. sein Urheberrecht geerbt hättest. Wenn sich für ein ausreichend altes Foto wirklich kein Urheber ermitteln lässt, kann es auf Commons als anonymes Werk hochgeladen werden (Vorlage: {{Anonymous EU}}), was dir für die Nutzung auf :de aber nicht weiterhilft, weil solche Fotos dort wegen des Risikos, dass sich doch der Urheber meldet, nicht akzeptiert werden. Eine gründliche Recherche nach älteren Nutzungen dieser Fotos könnte dagegen Klarheit schaffen, 1) bzgl. des voraussichtlichen Aufnahmejahr und 2) bzgl. des Fotografen oder Fotostudios. Im Idealfall könnte dabei auch herauskommen, dass der Fotograf doch schon vor 1942 verstorben ist und das Foto damit gemeinfrei ist. Dazu müsstest du dir halt nur die Zeit nehmen, sowohl im Internet als auch in einigen Druckwerken nachzuschauen, wie früh das Foto auftaucht und ob nicht doch irgendwo ein Fotograf genannt wird. --Túrelio (talk) 21:25, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

Hallo Túrelio, ich weiß zu schätzen, wie verständnisvoll Du auf mein Anliegen eingegangen bist und ich danke Dir dafür. Leider ist es mir (*1931) beim besten Willen nicht mehr möglich, zu klären, wann und wo die beiden Fotos aufgenommenen wurden, findet sich doch auf den Bildern keinerlei Vermerk darüber. Ich selbst habe 1954 im Verlag meines Vaters die Werbung für Härings später in elf Sprachen übersetztes Hauptwerk "Das Gesetz Christi" durchgeführt und dabei vielleicht auch Fotos von ihm verwendet.

Ich sehe durchaus ein, dass die Umstände nicht Wikimedia anzulasten sind. Gleichwohl will es mir schwer in den Kopf, habe ich doch in meiner über vierzigjährigen Verlagstätigkeit durchaus immer wieder mit Urheberrechtsfragen zu tun gehabt, jedoch niemals im Zusammenhang mit den Fotos meiner Autoren, mit denen wir weltweit Werbung gemacht haben ohne das jemals eine Frage nach den Urhebern der Fotos aufkam.

Ich habe nun soeben an die Hochschule der Redemptoristen Accademia Alfonsiana in Rom geschrieben um die nötige Erklärung zu erhalten oder mir die Datei eines anderen Fotos von Häring mit einer solchen Erklärung zu schicken und hoffe noch vor einer Löschung eine Antwort zu erhalten. Ich möchte dann das Bild auch noch in die sechs anderssprachigen Wikipedia-Artikel über Häring geben. Das wäre sicher im Sinne vieler Wikipedia-Benutzer, des Autors selbst und meines Vaters.

Nikolaus Monzel ist nur in der deutschsprachigen Wikipedia vertreten und ich wüsste nicht, an wen ich mich dafür in der Urheberrechtsfrage wenden könnte. Der Fotograph kann nicht schon 70 Jahre tot sein, denn die Aufnahme stammt aus 1960. Vermutlich war mein Vater der Fotograph, denn der handschriftliche Vermerk auf der Rückseite des Fotos sagt, wie ich angegeben habe "ein technisch schlechtes, aber sehr getreues Bild aus dem (nicht "den", wie ich versehentlich schrieb) letzten Lebensjahr", vermutlich von meiner Schwester Annette († 2006) geschrieben, die damals im Verlag arbeitete und keine direkten Erben hat.

Ich hoffe sehr dass sich im deutschen Urheberrecht bald etwas zu Gunsten eines freieren Wissensaustausch ändert, wie es z. B. auch von der deutschen Forschungsgesellschaft gefordert wird. Dass es derzeit verhindert, dass z. B. Philosophen wie Gadamer in Wikipedia statt mit einem Foto nur mit einem Grabstein vorgestellt werden können, ist schon eine ziemliche Schande - nicht für Wikipedia, sondern für die deutsche Gesetzgebung, was aber von vielen dann doch Wikipedia angelastet wird.

Hallo Meinolf, nur kurz: da ich bisher nur mit dir über die beiden Fotos "gesprochen" habe, droht die Löschung nicht gar so schnell. Bzgl. Monzel: wenn du es nach ehrlicher Abwägung für sehr wahrscheinlich hältst, dass dein Vater der Fotograf war, wäre das ja schon ein Ansatz. A propos, wenn dir ein bestimmte Recherche aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen nicht möglich ist, könntest du auf :de, die ja der 1. Nutznießer deiner Uploads ist, mal nachfragen, ob dich da nicht ein jüngerer Spund unterstützen könnte. --Túrelio (talk) 10:54, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Hallo Túrelio, leider habe ich von der Accademia Alfonsiana noch keine Antwort erhalten; habe deshalb inzwischen nachgehakt. Beim Foto Monzel bin ich doch recht sicher, dass es von meinem Vater stammt. Es ist durchaus zu verantworten, ihn als Urheber einzusetzen und als Jahr der Aufnahme 1960. Kann ich selbst das noch ohne weiteres ändern oder wärest Du so gut, mir dabei zu helfen? Bei der "Beschreibung" müßte dann "ohne Vermerk eines Urhebers" gelöscht werden. Ich weiß nicht, wie das anzustellen ist und wäre für Hilfe dankbar. - Gerade sehe ich noch, dass sich auch bei "Quelle" zwei Tippfehler eingeschlichen haben: "meunes Faters" statt "meines Vaters". Entschuldige!

O.k., ich habe die Angaben beim Monzel-Foto soweit korrigiert. Das "ohne Vermerk des Urhebers" ist ja nicht falsch. Aber wenn du es trotzdem löschen willst, dann einfach hier klicken.
Allerdings ist das "PD-ineligible" nicht haltbar. D.h., unter der Annahme dass dein Vater der Fotograf war und du sein Alleinerbe bist, musst du dir überlegen, unter welche Lizenz du das Bild stellen willst. Infrage kommt die Spanne von CC-BY-SA 3.0-de bis CC-Zero (=gemeinfrei). Für Portraits würde ich immer eine Lizenz wählen, die dem Urheber oder Rechteinhaber größtmögliche Kontrolle lässt, was dann für die o.g. CC-BY-Lizenz sprechen würde. Da du (vermutlich) der Rechteinhaber bist, müsstest du den Lizenzbaustein selbst einsetzen, weil das ja letztlich ein Rechtsakt ist. Das wäre dann {{cc-by-sa-3.0-de|1=Erich Wewel}} .
Übrigens, falls dir dieses Buch unter die Finger kommt, kannst du ja mal schauen, ob dein Monzel-Foto darin auftaucht und ob etwas zum, Urheber angegeben ist. --Túrelio (talk) 15:02, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

Hallo Túrelio, heute bekam ich vom "Archiv der Münchener Provinz der Redemptoristen" (AMPR) per E-Mail ein neueres Foto von Bernhard Häring (BernhardHäring0001.jpg) und dazu folgende Erklärung:

"Das "Archiv der Münchener Provinz der Redemptoristen" (AMPR) ist der Urheberrechtsinhaber an dem Foto "BernhardHäring0001.jpg" und erlaubt es jedem, dieses Bild für jeglichen Zweck, inklusive uneingeschränkte Weiterveröffentlichung, kommerziellen Gebrauch und Modifizierung zu nutzen."

Das Foto wurde um 1992 aufgenommen. Von wem, ist nicht bekannt. Der Biblkiothekar des Redemptoristen-Klosters in Gars versucht noch, Näheres herauszubringen. Ist das denn bei der Erklärung des Urheberrechtsinhabers noch notwendig?

Ich möchte jetzt das neue Foto gegen mein Foto austauschen; dies Ihrem Rat folgend mit der Lizenz CC-BY-SA 3.0.

Hallo Meinolf, lade das neue Häring-Foto am besten unter einem anderen Namen als das bereits vorhandene hoch. Setze beim Upload oder anschließend die Vorlage {{OTRS pending}} auf die Seite. Außerdem, leite bitte die Email, mit der du das neue Foto erhalten hast, an permissions-commons-de@wikimedia.org weiter, unter Erwähnung des Dateinamens auf Commons. Das kann das Supportteam hierfür ein Ticket vergeben und die Kuh ist vom Eis. --Túrelio (talk) 15:32, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Hallo Meinolf Wewel,

bald ist es soweit: Vom 1. bis zum 30. September 2019 findet zum neunten Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Dabei können Bau- und Kulturdenkmale fotografiert und die Fotos hochgeladen werden. Du hast an einem der vergangenen Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen. Deshalb laden wir dich ein, dieses Jahr wieder mitzumachen. Wir freuen uns auf deine Fotos!

Es sind viele spannende Motive überall in Deutschland zu fotografieren. Neben beeindruckenden märchenhaften Schlössern, Burgen und Kirchen können auch andere Kulturdenkmale wie Brücken, Industrieruinen, Bauernhöfe oder Parks fotografiert werden, um sie unter anderem in der Wikipedia zu dokumentieren. In den letzten Jahren sind zahlreiche neue Denkmallisten entstanden, die sich über Fotos freuen. Für die Suche nach Motiven gibt es bei Wikipedia zahlreiche Listen und Karten. Als Einstieg hilft diese Übersichtsseite. Weitere Informationen erhältst du auf der Mitmach-Seite.

Du bist interessiert, am Wettbewerb mitzuwirken, dir fehlt aber die richtige Technik? Dann wirf doch mal einen Blick in den Technikpool und das Technikleihportal von Wikimedia Deutschland! Dort findest du Kameras, Objektive und Zubehör verschiedenster Art. Sollte noch Technik fehlen, die aber in Zukunft unbedingt benötigt wird, dann freut sich Wikimedia Deutschland über dein Feedback zum Technikpool.

Außerdem laden wir Dich ein, ab Mitte September 2019 an der Vorjury teilzunehmen. Diese bewertet die hochgeladenen Bilder und ermittelt so gemeinsam mit der Jury, die im Oktober tagt, die Sieger von Wiki Loves Monuments 2019 in Deutschland. Das Vorjurytool ist hier bald freigeschaltet. Du benötigst dafür nur deinen Benutzernamen und das Passwort.
