About Categories edit

Hello,

I really appreciate the beautiful pictures you have uploaded for Wiki Loves Africa.

I am trying to sort them out and categorize them (more than 7 000 !). As I unfortunately cannot read Arab, it results very difficult. Most of the time I choose a very general category, such as Musicians from Egypt. You are welcome to find more appropriate ones, as I cannot go further without a caption in English. Sorry.

Regards,

Hello jotje Thank you for massage, I really have a problem with photography contests organized by Wikipedia. Because I they uploading any entries photos to be an open source on internet search engines with hight quality and without any copyright or watermark, and that's totally different from any photography contests I have ever heard. And I had participated before with meny photos then I found that my photos entries are available online to anyone who want to use. So in meny places and meny shops I can see my photos are printed and people are selling it or in streets like a huge panars. Without any copyright or permission from me to use. And why because I wasn't understand the system of Wikipedia. Can you tell me what can I do to save my rights?? Iam a professional photographer this is my work. For your information. Mohamed Kamal (talk) 13:41, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mohamed kamal 1984 I would ask for help, maybe Jeff G. will be able to guide you in the right direction. Lotje (talk) 13:47, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi. I see you uploaded File:Mount Catherine in Egypt by mohammad kamal.jpg and licensed it {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}}, which uses {{cc-by-sa-4.0}}. If someone has used your photo without acknowledging your authorship, a link to the license, and any changes, they have violated your copyright because their use was not licensed. Since you are using the viral ShareAlike restriction, if their use is not licensed like yours (or a later version of that license), they have also violated your copyright. Your options for what you do with that information (for instance, discussing with them or reporting them to COM:ANU (if they are a Commons user), sending letters, having your lawyer send letters, complaining publicly, filing DMCA complaints, or suing) can depend on where you and they are in the world, as well as the opinion of your lawyer and a cost/benefit analysis of each option.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 18:43, 17 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

My copyrights edit

I understand your opinion. But I need you to know that here in Egypt nobody cares about the copyrights and nobody can help me even though I brought a lawyer. So I suggest to reload my photos with watermark, I mean you just give me some help to remove the existing entries of my photos and I will reloading it once again. I really want to help people and any one by supporting Wikipedia to go on and continue its efforts of rising the knowledge all over the world. Mohamed Kamal (talk) 03:16, 19 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
