ICC map edit
Hi! As I have no user rights on Commons, could you please do the following to the File:ICCmemberstatesworldmap102007.png
1) Add Moldova 2) Add Seychelles 3) Make Grenada (which is currently wrongly orange) grey as it is not a state party and has not signed the Statute. 4) Make St Lucia (which is currently wrongly grey) green as it has become a state party.
Thanks. --141.35.40.137 17:25, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Done, but I'm not sure which dot is corresponding to which state in the Carribean. --Glentamara (talk) 18:00, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Glentamara! Thanks for your change. Unfortunately, you got Trinidad/Tobago and Grenada wrong. The southeastern most dot in the Caribbean which is Trinidad and Tobago is to be dark green (as a state party) whereas the dot immediately northwest of it is Grenada which should be grey. I'd be extremely thankful if you could change the map once again. Thanks so much. --141.35.40.137 18:33, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- No problem! By the way, it is easy to get an account, which will make it possible for you to edit these images freely. --Glentamara (talk) 22:04, 5 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks again. I do have an account but when I tried last time to update the file it didn't work because the software told me something of not having made enough edits on Commons. Now it worked. Thanks for the tip. I have just uploaded another updated file because I seem to have been unable to tell you what I mean. I hope that now the map is fully correct. Thanks very much for your very efforts and friendliness. Yours. --EBB (talk) 10:55, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- Oops, sorry. It was me who did not read carefully enough in a hurry. The reason why you could not edit images earlier may be because you were not a confirmed user then. --Glentamara (talk) 12:33, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Copyright status: File:2 Euro coin Ie.gif edit
This media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:2 Euro coin Ie.gif. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |

File:2 euro coin Va serie 3.png has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.
The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. Portuguese Euro coins and copyright edit
I have tagged all of your Portuguese Euro coins as copyright violations for speedy deletion. National sides of Euro coins are copyrighted to their respective countries of origins, unless otherwise specifically released into the public domain or available under a free license. That is not the case for such coins from Portugal. The coins I tagged are (temporarily) displayed Euro#Portugal. --Hammersoft (talk) 19:59, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Could you please add Poland to your map? --Urxn (talk) 06:48, 18 September 2012 (UTC)

- Estonia submitted papers so it should be dark green.
- Greece completed parliamentary procedure so it should be light green.
- Sweden completed parliamentary procedure.
- Greece submitted documents.
- Spain submitted documents.
- I would recommend you to create an account on Wikimedia Commons and download Inkscape here. Both are free and easy to use. You will then be able to update the maps by yourself! Best regards, --Glentamara (talk) 13:41, 11 January 2013 (UTC)
Hello Glentamara, unfortunately the polish border became fatter than the other borders. I'don't know how to fix that otherwise I had coloured Poland already dark green for having documents deposited. --134.176.205.107 20:40, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi! No problem, I can fix it but I don't understand why Poland should be dark green. Poland has yet to deposit its ratification instruments according to the official website [1]. Best regards --Glentamara (talk) 07:05, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

Canary Islands in File:Eurozone.svg edit
Hello Glentamara
We received a ticket noting that the Canary Islands do belong to the Eurozone (they are part of Spain) and requesting they get added to the map. Could you take care of that?
Thanks
Platonides (talk) 23:02, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
- The map only shows the European part of the Eurozone. Other territories, like the Azores and Madeira and the French oversea departments, are not shown either. --Glentamara (talk) 07:36, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi Glentamara, since you uploaded this file, do you know who's signature this is? Lotje ʘ‿ʘ (talk) 06:26, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry for my late reply. The image is showing the signature of the Belgian representative when the Nice Treaty was signed, i.e. Mr. Louis Michel. --Glentamara (talk) 10:48, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. Lotje ʘ‿ʘ (talk) 16:43, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi Glentamara, i have my doubts about this map. Greenland is marked as "Visa required". Greenland does not belongs to the EU, but Greenlanders possess citizenship of the EU. It would be almost unbelievable, if they needed to have visa. Could you verify it?
Thanks. --Hektor Absurdus (talk) 17:40, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- You are of course right! Greenland should be light blue. In the older version it was correct but I must have made a mistake when I changed all colors of the map some time ago. Thanks! --Glentamara (talk) 19:16, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi, I saw that you coloured in Estonia in blue because of its accession to the eurozone in 2011. Maybe you could do the same for Latvia, entering 2014? --84.114.131.165 14:27, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, it will be implemented on 1 January 2014 when Latvia adopts the euro. Best regards --Glentamara (talk) 18:24, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I understand, but I thougt of making it light-blue with the hint under the picture, that Latvia is going to adopt the euro 2014. like here with Estonia : [2] --84.114.131.165 10:30, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- I understand your idea, but unfortunately it is difficult to make any change to these maps because they are used in many different wikipedia articles and if we insert new colors, then we have to insert an explanation in all these articles. --Glentamara (talk) 11:41, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- Ah okay, I see! Then we have to wait until 2014 ;) --84.114.131.165 15:16, 6 June 2013 (UTC)

Vatican City not shown on the map edit
Hi Glentamara - could you add Vatican City to the Euro coins svg-map? San Marino should be marked by a real circle. And, by the way, Liechtenstein is also not properly indicated. Andorra is already shown in dark blue, although it will only be associated on 1 January. Happy New Year! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 14:56, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi! Could you please send me a link to the map or specify its file name so that I know which map you are refering to. Regards, --Glentamara (talk) 15:44, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Eurozone.svg / File:Eurozone.svg --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 16:54, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- The map is part of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro_coins --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 16:59, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for the information. Well, I guess that the Vatican City is too small to be seen on the map. San Marino and Liechtenstein are both shown on the map with proper colors. You can see a large version of the image here. Please tell me if I have misunderstood your complaint. Best regards, --Glentamara (talk) 17:14, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- It was just a hint, no complaint, Glentamara! Yesterday you reverted Latvia to be named part of eurozone before 1 January. So is Andorra in blue color premature as well. Vatican City should be marked with a circle, apart from its tiny size - Monaco is not much bigger and is clearly visible on the map. San Marino and Liechtenstein, you are right, are marked. Nonetheless, I think that a simbolic circle for each microstate, regardless of its size, is advisable. In the map's legend at Euro coins I also added the remark, that, besides the 17 Eurozone members, there are also 3 associated microstates up to now. So each Microstate should be marked on the map. Currently it appears to be Andorra, Monaco and San Marino instead of Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City. --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 17:45, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Ok, I will see tomorrow if I can insert a circle for each microstate. Bytheway, Andorra introduced the euro officially on 1 April 2012, even though it will start producing its own coins on 1 January 2014. --Glentamara (talk) 20:28, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Andorra was not able to introduce the Euro on 1 July, because it did not yet meet the EU-requirements concerning money laundering etc. Only on 20 November the Andorran government approved regulations according those requirements: http://www.govern.ad/finances/item/4966-el-govern-aprova-dos-decrets-per-transposar-la-normativa-europea-a-l-acord-monetari (Catalan language). Therefore, only three weeks ago the EU-commission gave approval for the mintage of Andorran Euro coins: http://www.diariandorra.ad/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=29709&Itemid=380 The coins will be edited around march 2014.
- Good luck for the insertion of the Vatican circle! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 22:00, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Bytheway, also Malta might better be indicated by a circle, to indicate that is is a sovereign state, not only a small island off the Italian coast...--Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 22:12, 28 December 2013 (UTC)
- Well, using the euro as official currency and minting own coins are not the same thing! The monetary agreement between the EU and Andorra entered into force on 1 April 2012. According to article 1 of this agreement the euro is the official currency of Andorra. The coin minting is also regulated by this agreement but will not start until 1 January 2014 as you say. However, it does not mean that the euro didn't become the official currency on 1 April 2012. Note for instance that there are territories that are using the euro as their official currency without minting coins (e.g. Saint Pierre and Michelon). --Glentamara (talk) 11:08, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- I have made some adjustments to the map now. You can see them here. --Glentamara (talk) 11:34, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Just perfect! When I studied your page, I realized that you created a bunch of very informative maps: well done / chapeau! I might insert some of them into German Wikipedia articles (which country are you from?).
- You might adopt the symbolic circles into some of these other maps as well - it really enhances the recognisability a lot. Happy New Year! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 12:11, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Please don't be mad at me, Glentamara, but one more hint while I admire some of your maps: the two Swedish lakes (and the Dutch IJsselmeer), shown in a lighter green at File:EU2004-2007.svg are irritating, because there is a similar color indicating member states joining the EU in 2004. These lakes are no relevant information in this map, they should be dark green as well. Nevertheless: superb job! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 15:22, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hehe, I'm not mad at all :P Actually I like your feedback and comments! Without any such feedback it is difficult to improve things. Next year I plan to go through all my maps and standardize them (again). For instance, I will insert these changes w.r.t the microstates in all maps and also remove lakes and other unnecessary things. I'm from Sweden bytheway. Good luck with your writings on German Wikipedia and Happy New Year! --Glentamara (talk) 21:01, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
- I appreciate your reaction! You are right, constructive feedback is essential for improvements. I already guessed that you are Swedish, because many of your maps are linked to sv-wikipedis. I was mainly active recently with WP's Euro & 2-€-commemorative coins (f.e. [3] or [4]). What a pity that I don't have the slightest idea how to create a svg-map. So I only initiated this [5]. This brings me to your map [6]: I miss a kind of legend (similar to the flags and description in [7] to determine which area is indicated and where it belongs to. That would be really helpful!
- The reason why there is no legend is because I wanted the map to be useful regardless of language version. If you want the map to have a legend you can implement it like a template, see here how I did it. I found this alternative advantageous because the legend can be made clickable and the text size can be adjusted to fit into a Wikipedia article. --Glentamara (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- And another topic: When I went to school 60 years (OMG!) ago, I got an atlas, which contained this homolographic (area true) map of the land hemisphere (with maximum landmass)[8]. This outstanding illustration (compared with this non-area-true from WP: [9] I converted with primitive means, but patience into this: [10]. This would be great to have as svg-map! Of course, not in black and with all the rivers ets., but in gereral. You might be the right guy, Glentamara, to fulfil my wishful thinking one day... I always thought this to be the perfect motive for the small Eurocents, Europe in the very center of the land hemisphere (not for ideological, only optical reasons - it would help to realize the smallness of Europe). WP's map of the EU [11] is much less impressive in comparism.
- Interesting ideas! You may as well be interested in downloading Inkscape (http://www.inkscape.org/en/). It is free and makes it possible for you to create and edit svg files. The best way to learn the program is perhaps "trial and error", but if you have any specific problems I can try to help you. --Glentamara (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- It was my pleasure to get in contact with you! Ha det bra! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 00:19, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Mach's gut! --Glentamara (talk) 10:58, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- The template-version is really great! Thanks for the link to Inkscape! I will try to persuade my 18-year old son, who is good at math and a kind of nerd, to help me one day, if necessary.
- Back to Andorra: In the Monetary Agreement, which entered into force on 1 April 2012, it is said, that there is a transposition deadline of (12 or) 18 months for the adoption of the mentioned EU legal acts and rules. This deadline ran out on 30 September 2013. Only on 20 November the Andorran government implemented these rules. Do you know of an additional accord between Brussels and Andorra concerning that delay? Or was the delay not considered being a breach of the agreement? I found no information about that.
- On 1 January you can watch my place in tv: ski-jumping at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Very strange this year with nearly no snow. Hej då! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 13:47, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- I think that the Joint Committee (established by article 11 of the monetary agreement) is responsible for deciding what happens if, for instance, Andorra does not transpose the EU legal acts within the given time frames. Such a procedure is mentioned in article 8(5). However, article 8(6) states that such a revision should be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. According to the EUR-Lex database this has not happened yet, but sometimes it takes several months after its adoption before a legal act is published in the journal. --Glentamara (talk) 14:09, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation! A remark: This file [12] names also Liechtenstein as part of the EEA, your map [13] doesn't. Take it easy! --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 16:39, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- It does mark Liechtenstein as part of the EEA. Take a look at a version with higher resolution to see that Liechtenstein actually is marked green on the map.--Glentamara (talk) 17:40, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry -mea culpa! never mind, --Gerd.Seyffert (talk) 18:28, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Image in high resolution edit
Hi Glentamara,
I was wondering if it might be possible to get an image you created in high resolution. I'm specifically interested in the EP hemicycle diagram with the grey dots so that I can use it on the cover of a publication that I'm putting together.
G
- Hi! It is vector graphics, so you can get it with any resolution you like. If you have a program for vector graphics, you can just download the image to the program. Otherwise, I can help you with getting a bit map image with better resolution. --Glentamara (talk) 14:22, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
You're an ABSOLUTE lifesaver. Every time I saved the file, I kept getting a PNG, but I figured out how to get the SVG. Thank you!
- Great that it worked out so well for you! --Glentamara (talk) 19:38, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

Logo of Frontex edit
I reverted your upload about the "new logo" of Frontex. The "European Border and Coast Guard Agency" is the new agency that replaced the "European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the EU" in 2016. In addition, your image wasn't extracted from FRAN Quarterly, Quarter 1 2013, ad in the description. See Here. --Skyfall (talk) 15:48, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
File:OECD.svg edit
Hello.
Can you add South Sudan in File:OECD.svg and in other similar international relations SVG maps where it is missing?
I am adding South Sudan (as well as Montenegro and other possible missing updates) in the PNG maps in Category:Maps needing South Sudan political boundaries and then remove this category after updating them. There were close to 1100 maps since I started to update these files on 1 March 2018, now it is reduced to less than 640 maps, but there is a long way to go.
Unfortunately I don't know how to edit SVG maps myself, that is why I asked you.
Kindest regards.

File:Europe-blocs-49-89x4.svg edit
Would you know how to correct the legend of File:Europe-blocs-49-89x4.svg? France is classified to the wrong colour in the legend. Thanks. --Edcolins (talk) 20:50, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
- Yes, I know how to change it. However, France is marked by the correct color (dark blue). --Glentamara (talk) 23:38, 21 September 2018 (UTC)

SSM map edit
Hi Glentamara,
Dark grey is for EU countries nominally subject to the ruling, aqua stripes for those who've indicated they will abide by it. Perhaps the striping should be light blue instead, since the effects of recognition are so minimal? (Light blue because only residency rights are affected, striped because it's not available to the entire population.) Anyway, that's a matter for discussion on the talk page. I thought I'd bring this to your attention. According to an IP editor on en:Talk:Special member state territories and the European Union, in reference to File:Special member state territories and the European Union.svg; "The map in the Info Box at the top of this page still incorrectly includes some of the British Overseas Territories. The Pitcairn Islands (Pacific Ocean), Turks & Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Montserrat, Cayman Islands (Caribbean Sea) are still showing and need to be deleted." I hope this is useful. -- The Anome (talk) 11:11, 3 February 2020 (UTC)

Changing Ireland to bicameral edit
A user pointed out that your map https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:European_Union_member_states_by_number_of_houses.svg lists Ireland as unicameral, when it is actually bicameral (as correctly put on the January version of the same map). Could you fix this?
--AndreasBM (talk) 08:47, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
- Hi! Thank you for pointing this out! It was a mistake by me last time I updated the map. It has now been corrected. --Glentamara (talk) 10:49, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Ongoing ICC Investigations (ICC Pre-trial Chamber authorizes Investigation on Philippines) edit
Hi! Sorry to bother you, I don’t know already have already heard or learned that the ICC Pre-trial Chamber has already authorized investigations last September 15, 2021 on the Philippines’ Drug War. Anyway, just wanted to inform you about that in case there is a need to edit the map of ongoing ICC Investigations to reflect the current status. Thank you and keep safe.
