Hi, please do not categorize your uploads (an example of your recent activity):
- Category:Universities and colleges by city +
- Category:Universities and colleges by country +
- Category:Lucerne +
- Category:Canton of Lucerne +
- Category:Switzerland
Please save time and capacity on commons by categorizing:
- Category:Buildings in Lucerne (and for example Category:Education in the canton of Lucerne, "Castles in the canton of Lucerne" (and so on) and/or Category:Universities and colleges in Switzerland)
Please use as far as possible the category of the regarding city/town/village or district (if there's no category), or, a localized better 'fitting' i.e. the 'most fitting"' category(ies), and, do not add - in addition - the categories of the city, state and country, too.

Deine Zeilen Deine Fotos edit
Du hast Dich mit folgenden Zeilen an mich gewandt (hierher verschoben, damit die ganze Diskussion zusammen ist):
Hallo DidiWeidmann Habe festgestellt, dass fast alle deine Fotos einen schrecklichen Magentastich haben. Falls du das nicht korrigieren willst, werde ich, wenigstens was den Kanton Luzern betrifft diese Bilder durch andere ersetzen. Gruss --Nienetwiler (talk) 09:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
- Das dürfte wohl nur die älteren mit der Handykamera gemachten Fotos betreffen (hauptsächlich Freiamt und Bezirk Sursee). Bessere Fotos sind natürlich willkommen, soweit diese aber nicht aus derselben Perspektive aufgenommen sind, sollstest Du meine nicht entfernen sondern die Ersatzfotos unter neuem Namen raufladen. Du kannst natürlich auch die bestehenden Bilder farbilich bearbeiten. Gruss DidiWeidmann (talk) 15:45, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
Lieber Nienetwiler - Folgendes: Bessere Fotos sind absolut willkommen. Was Du mit dem Rotstich richtig bemerkt hast, betrifft jedoch nur einen kleinen Teil meiner Bilder aus meiner Anfangszeit bei Commons, als ich nur über eine billige Handykamera verfügte (für die verfügbare Primitiv-Technik waren die Bilder sogar erstaunlich gut). Inzwischen hab ich eine gute Kamera (Nikon) erworben, womit sich natürlich ganz andere Bilder machen lassen. Wenn ich an die entsprechenden Orte, wo ich meine ersten Bilder mit der Handy-Kamera machte zurückkehre, mach ich natürlich neue Bilder, da es aber noch so viele Ecken gibt, von wo es überhaupt keine Bilder (auch nicht solche mit Rotstich) gibt, hat das nicht erste Priorität. Wenn Du selber im Bezirk Sursee, Hochdorf oder Freiamt lebst, wäre es natürlich super, wenn wir bald möglichst viele Bilder von Dir sehen, denn ausser meinen rund 200 Rotstichbildern hat es ja noch fast keine Bildmaterial aus jener Gegend in der Wikipedia. Eine Alternative wäre es auch, die bestehenden Bilder mit Farbfiltern zu bearbeiten, ist aber nicht ganz einfach und ziemlich aufwändig. Vielleicht sieht man sich ja auch einmal an irgendeinem Wikianlass. Bis später DidiWeidmann (talk) 10:04, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
- Ciao DidiWeidmann - Habe bereits einiges an Fotos gemacht und werd das latürnich auch in Zukunft tun. Die Fotos zu bearbeiten ist einfach (Stabelbearbeitung). Allerdings stinkt mir jeweils das Hochladen einzelner Bilder. Wenns da was gäbe was es einfacher macht, könnt ich die Korrekturen schon vornehmen. Schallenberg, location und object location edit
Hallo Nienetwiler, du hast alle deine Fotos zu Schallenberg mit der Passkoordinate gekennzeichnet, nach dem Bild der Passhöhe zu schließen, sind deine Fotos nicht auf der Passhöhe aufgenommen. {{Location}} beschreibt die Kameraposition, {{Object location}} die Objektposition. Kannst du bitte die Aufnahmeposition (das ist die wichtigere) für deine Bilder herausfinden? Danke. Dafür ein Hinweis: autostitch erlaubt unter Windows das Herstellen von Panoramafotos. lg --Herzi Pinki (talk) 19:23, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Tip: Categorizing images edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]][[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
