About copyright issue on 2 Anandpal Images edit

I'm a freelancer news reporter and these photos were taken by me years back when I was in field and I provided the images in media too and it's my own work and it's my copyrighted work and I'm uploading it for CC free use on Wikipedia and wrote the whole article. So kindly consider not deleting them for integrity of article. Thanks. Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BeLucky (talk • contribs) 06:42, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Belucky, higher resolution versions of the above images have continuously appeared at multiple copyrighted sites for the last few years (before you uploaded them here). So, these are outright violation of copyrights. If you are the copyright holder then you must have the original full resolution versions of these images. If so, you can reupload them after getting proper guidance at Commons:Help desk. Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 18:26, 19 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Truoble uploading a photograph edit

Hello NitinMlk,

I apologise for this inconvenience. You uploaded this image of [1] recently. The copyright holder of the image is Bollywood Hungama. I need to upload an image[2] from the same website. How did you contact the website for ORTS? Hogwarts Portal (talk) 01:25, 17 February 2018.

Hello, Hogwarts Portal. Bollywood Hungama has already given permission through OTRS to the Commons to publish their Parties & Events images under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. So you don't have to ask them again. Just remember that the images should be from those parties or events which happened in India. In short, if you want to upload any image which appeared at Parties & Events, then you can easily upload them using Commons:Upload Wizard, although remember to use {{BollywoodHungama}}. Your uploaded pic will then be reviewed by an administrator or a reviewer.
BTW, I've just uploaded your pic – File:Yukta Mookhey at the launch of Marc Cain store.jpg. Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 13:50, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thankyou so much for the guidance, NitinMlk. I'll follow it in the future. Your help is tremendously appreciated. Hogwarts Portal (talk) 20:02, 17 February 2018.

Hogwarts Portal, you are welcome. As the file uploaded by you was deleted for missing license, I guess you made mistake in the 'Release rights' step of Upload Wizard. If so, next time you upload any similar image, then choose the second option in the 'Release rights' step, i.e. "this file is not my own work". Then click on the 'another reason not mentioned above' field, and add {{BollywoodHungama}} in the space provided. - NitinMlk (talk) 14:46, 17 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

How to upload image and give source from Facebook, Twitter, and free site images edit

How to upload image and give source from Facebook, Twitter, and free site images the image in this is claimed copyright https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:JogiAsad#File:Rajput_unity_hierarchy.jpg, but sometimes such social sites images are used in wikis, and its source mentioned, let me know how it can be...Thanks..JogiAsad (talk) 23:41, 27 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

JogiAsad, firstly, Facebook & Twitter are copyrighted sites, so you cannot upload images from those sites. In fact, you can only upload images or media files from those webpages which publish their work under suitable licenses. To know about those licenses, you will have to read this & this page. Most common type of suitable licenses are listed here, e.g. this Flickr image was published under compatible license (CC BY 2.0) as you can find by clicking on the bottom right corner icon under the image, which is marked as "Some rights reserved". So it was fine to upload File:Manushi Chhillar in Brazil.jpg. But this Flickr image is copyrighted, so it cannot be uploaded to the Commons. BTW, if you see © sign on a web page, then that page is copyrighted.
Secondly, you are correct that there are many copyvio files at the Commons & English Wikipedia. But they are all eligible for deletion. If you find any file which is copied from Facebook, Twitter, or other copyrighted website, then feel free to nominate that for deletion. And if you are not familiar with deletion nomination, then I can help you out.
Finally, the content of the caste-related file uploaded by you wasn't backed by reliable sources, so it would've been removed from the English WP articles anyway, even if wasn't a copyright violation. That's because it was based mostly on original research. In short, there is no point in uploading those images which are basically user-generated content. - NitinMlk (talk) 18:57, 29 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
Dear Thanks for your cooperation, help and guidance... I'll surely visit those instructions and if any help required will ask you.JogiAsad (talk) 23:48, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

File:Matteo Mancuso 2018.jpg edit

I received your message regarding the file and the speedy delete tag. I do not oppose your speedy delete. Lubbad85 () 23:31, 25 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Lubbad85. There are certain YouTube videos from which you can take snapshots or even upload them here, provided they are within the scope of this project, e.g. if you click on the SHOW MORE label of this YouTube video, you will find that its license is Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed). So it was fine to upload this snapshot of Jenna Marbles from that video. If you see videos under that particular license then you can upload stuff from them to the Commons. But be careful, as some YouTubers might steal others' copyrighted videos and release them under the aforementioned license. Also, remember to use {{YouTube CC-BY}} and {{From YouTube}} for license and source respectively of such uploads. Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 20:06, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! Lubbad85 () 21:11, 26 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

You’re welcome. - NitinMlk (talk) 22:07, 29 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

do not overwrite edit

Hi NitinMlk, do not overwrite existing images, as you have done with File:Prabhat PARWANA Awarded by Mamta Sharma Chairperson at Women Commission of India for Hindi Poetry-2013.jpg. Instead, upload your cropped version under a different filename. --Túrelio (talk) 19:13, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Túrelio, without being cropped, the above file will get deleted, as it is out of scope of this project, and will remain so in its present version. - NitinMlk (talk) 19:16, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I don't think so. If the lady is encyclopedically relevant, it doesn't matter whether she's alone or in a group. But anyway, overwriting, especially with such a an old upload, is against our policy. --Túrelio (talk) 19:21, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Túrelio, the file as such is unsuitable for the infobox of Mamta Sharma (politician). And the other person in the pic is non-notable, and will remain so in the foreseeable future. So, why do you want to keep the original file? BTW, can you cite the relevant policy alluded by you? Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 19:27, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Oh my. If it's unsuitable, then upload a cropped version (under a different filename), what I had told you already in the beginning. The uncropped image had been uploaded in 2014! It might be deleted only per a regular deletion-request. The policy is Commons:Overwriting existing files. Can we end this discussion now. --Túrelio (talk) 19:44, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Túrelio, thanks for the link of the relevant guideline. I wanted to do what is mentioned at here. But I will go through the guideline properly. BTW, keep up your excellent work as an admin! - NitinMlk (talk) 19:59, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrol given edit

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. 1989 (talk) 03:16, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. - NitinMlk (talk) 00:21, 1 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

Dear, I thought if I mention "this is not my own work" will not violate copyright. But now I will not upload any image on wikipedia. Thank you Sunilbutolia (talk) 10:59, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sunilbutolia, I warned you on 2nd July, but you still uploaded multiple copyrighted pics in the last two days. Anyway, I won't report you to an admin this time around because of your above comment. But don't get surprised if you still get blocked, as a different user has also warned you today. - NitinMlk (talk) 22:26, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violation edit

I never thought Uploading a Media can lead to such chaos, it is Saina's old image of March, 2018 something. Can't you consider it please? Zoglophie (talk) 07:01, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Zoglophie, that pic is copyrighted. And I can't do anything in that regard, as I am not its copyright holder. You can read my following reply to understand regarding the copyrights of this type of files: User_talk:NitinMlk#How_to_upload_image_and_give_source_from_Facebook,_Twitter,_and_free_site_images. Thanks. - NitinMlk (talk) 07:11, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

I uploaded another cropped version of her image, is it okay now? Zoglophie (talk) 07:16, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Zoglophie, no, that one is also a copyright violation. And I will tag that for deletion. Please read the post pointed out by me in my previous reply, and do not upload any other copyrighted file. - NitinMlk (talk) 07:23, 1 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
