Disambiguation not always neeeded

Vidím, že se nějak v Jihomoravském kraji přemnožily rozlišovače i na místech, kde nejsou vůbec nutné. Třeba Nevojice či Nesovice jsou jen jedny, není tedy důvodu, aby se kategorie jmenovala Category:Nesovice (Vyškov District). Určitě postačí Category:Nesovice. Závorka má opodstatnění tam, kde je víc obcí stejného jména (zde např. Habrovany) apod. Název článku na cs: je v tom většinou použitelným vodítkem zda závorku použít či ne. A když už tak píšu, využívm příležitosti prosbě o kategoriaci nejen podle místa (kterou velmi oceňuju), ale nakolik možno taky podle vyobrazeného tématu (Churches/Castles/Schools/Observatories/World War I memorials apod.). --Miaow Miaow 18:35, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Mohu poprosit o používání rozlišovačů v jednotné podobě s velkým D ve slově District, tj. např. Vřesovice (Hodonín District). Ušetří mi to pak nemálo práce. :-) Jinak k příspěvkům samá chvála. --Miaow Miaow (talk) 07:31, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Categories for people of the Czech Republic

Please be careful when adding categories stating that some were related to the Czech Republic. This state was founded only in the 1990s. For historic context, it is either Czechoslovakia, or Austrian Empire. Also, please write it next to the other categories above the interwikis, not below the interwikis where its gets overlooked. --Matthead (talk) 04:19, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Hallo P.matel, eine kleine Frage: es gibt eine Inkonsistenz zwischen der Angabe, wo Michael Thonet beerdigt ist („Familiengrab auf dem Wiener Zentralfriedhof“) und Deinem Foto („Familiengrab der Thonets in Koryčany“). Hast Du evtl. noch mehr Fotos, die zeigen, wer in dem von Dir fotografierten Graf beerdigt wurde, oder weißt Du es noch so? Municipal buildings in the Czech Republic

Zdravím. Všiml jsem si, že k některým obrázkům, které jsou již zařazeny v kategoriích "Town halls in ... Region", přidáváte ještě kategorii Municipal buildings in the Czech Republic. Asi bude v některých případech složité určit, které radnice jsou ještě "town hall" a které už jen "municipal building" (má to být spíš podle typu budovy, anebo podle toho, jestli dotyčná obec momentálně je či někdy byla městem?), ale je dobrý nápad snažit se to nějak oddělit. Možná také zauvažovat, jestli obecní úřady dávat rovnou do "municipal buldings" a ne třeba do podkategorií "municipal offices", protože obecními budovami jsou většinou také školy, místní knihovny, požární zbrojnice, městská muzea, často i některé památky atd. Ale na druhou stranu často bývají v "obecní budově" kromě obecního úřadu soustředěny i tyto další funkce...

Myslím, že by bylo dobré už v této fázi dělit obecní úřady také rovnou do kategorií podle krajů a "town halls" v každém kraji zařadit jako podkategorii "municipal buildings". Pak bude stačit fotky "town halls" v jednotlivých krajích jen vytřídit, které jsou "town halls" a které "municipal buildings", a nebudeme mít zbytečné duplicity, aby jedna fotka byla přímo zařazena v obojím. --ŠJů (talk) 13:54, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
