Answer: Todays reupload of that image seems to have fixed the problems. GIF files were scaled in a very bad manner by MediaWiki and since a couple of days they aren't scaled any more, the server sends the complete image to the browser which has to scale it now. The result is often pretty much ugly. GIF files were used for (background) transparency and for their small file size, both effects can be done with PNG, often in a better way. Plus: MediaWiki is able to scale these files pretty well. For editing PNGs I use Paint Shop Pro, Version 9. That's the last version before Corel bought it and (IMHO) changed it to the worse. --32X (talk) 20:28, 20 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
