Notification about possible deletion

edit

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Deleted images

Dear Thomas, I noted that your images have been removed as a result of a deletion nomination, including File:2023-08-11 Artificial Intelligence 3.jpg and File:2023-08-11 Artificial Intelligence 1.jpg. I used these images on my article about AGI on WikiKids, a Dutch encyclopedia for children. Could you perhaps upload these images again or send them to me via email? I would like to use them again in my article. I would love to hear from you! Kind regards, S. Perquin (talk) 10:18, 18 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Seems like you also didn't expect the deletion-debate to result in deletion. The deletion was not warranted. Maybe you find something here.
@Thomas Nordwest The deletions were absolutely unjust, unwarranted and I think against Wikimedia Commons policies. It was 4 (incl. nominee and not including one "leaning toward" delete) vs 4 Keep (not including you) and I think all the arguments for deletion were addressed and largely refuted. Thus, it should have resulted in a "No consensus"-Keep. I explicitly outlined how they are not just of relatively high quality but also unqiuely useful to illustrate some concepts, genres, or subjects like Category:Anachronism in art and fiction which now only contains little-related media after these images that represented the concept best were deleted. I think the Buddha statues images for instance were too plentiful but all images were deleted, not just these. I plan to make an undeletion request (and then add some of the images to some Wikipedia articles to prove how they are useful and most WMC images are not in any article).

You could have participated in this debate to further tilt it toward a Keep but didn't. Could you please address the concern the user "leaning toward" delete had? I share that concern. Namely, could you please clarify which software you used to generate these images and confirm that you'd be okay with changing their license to CC0?
If you do so, I'll make an undeletion request for many of the images (e.g. all except of the Buddha statues ones). If you don't do so, I make none or only one for the 3–6 images I found most useful. Thanks a lot for participating in this often thankless, unfriendly, repellent, non-welcoming community and sharing your quite high-quality AI art freely with the world.
