Yhden kuvan luokat

Hei! Suosittelen harkintaa ennen yhden kuvan luokkien luomista (esim. Category:National road 506 (Finland), Category:National road 508 (Finland)). Luokittelun tarkoitus on helpottaa kuvien löytymistä ja näin pienet luokat yleensä kuitenkin pikemminkin hankaloittavat sitä. Tilanne toki muuttuu, jos esim. ko. tiestä tallennetaan Commonsiin lisää kuvia: jos luokkaan kuuluvia kuvia on kolme tai enemmän, luokan luominen yleensä kannattaa. ––Apalsola ^{t • c} 13:41, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Maiden nimet luokkien nimissä

Hei! Commonsin käytäntönä on käyttää luokkien nimissä maista niiden perusmuotoa (esim. "Finland") adjektiivimuodon ("Finnish") sijaan. Luokkien nimet tulisi siis valita siten, että tämä on mahdollista. Näin ollen parempi nimi esim. luokalle Category:Estonian national road 92 olisi Category:National road 92 (Estonia).

Suomalaisten tieluokkien nimeäminen

Hei taas! Vallitseva käytäntö on nimetä suomalaisten teiden luokat muotoon "National road XX (Finland)". Toivottavaa olisi, että kaikki käyttäjät noudattaisivat käytäntöjä uusia luokkia luodessaan: on hyvin sekavaa, jos jotkin luokat on nimetty eri tavalla kuin toiset. Jos olet sitä mieltä, että vallitseva käytäntö on huono, voit toki ehdottaa sen muuttamista. Jos yhteisö tällöin on sitä mieltä, että uusi käytäntö on parempi, nimetään sitten kaikki luokat uudelleen uuden käytännön mukaisiksi. ––Apalsola ^{t • c} 12:37, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Siirsin luokan Category:Regional road 636 (Finland) takaisin nimelle Category:National road 636 (Finland), koska tämä luokka oli jo olemassa.

Kahdesta muusta (Category:Regional road 959 (Finland) ja Category:Connecting road 4015 (Finland)) tein siirtoesitykset. Niihin voi ottaa kantaa ao. kuvien keskustelusivuilla.

Luokkien siirtämisestä/uudelleennimeämiseen yleensä on kolme tapaa:

• Täysin selvistä ja ei-kiistanalaisissa tapauksista (esim. kirjoitusvirheet) voi tehdä suoraan siirtopyynnön sivulle User talk:CommonsDelinker/commands käyttäen mallinetta {{Move cat}}.
• Yksittäisen luokan siirtämisestä muuten voi tehdä esityksen lisäämällä mallineen {{Move}} ao. luokkaan. (Voit katsoa mallia esim. kahdesta ym. luokasta.) Tällöin muilla käyttäjillä on mahdollisuus kommentoida esitystä. Jos kukaan ei kommentoi kohtuulliseen aikaan (joskus aika oli kaksi viikkoa, nyt en löytänyt enää mitään tarkkaa aikaa), voi siirrosta tehdä pyynnön edellisessä kohdassa mainitulla tavalla.
• Useamman luokan siirtämisestä (esim. käytäntöä muutettaessa) toimitaan periaatteessa samalla tavalla kuin edellisessä kohdassa. Tällöin asiasta voi harkinnan mukaan mainita myös sivulla Commons:Categories for discussion sekä kahvihuoneissa (enlglanninkielinen/suomenkielinen). Kohteliasta on myös kertoa tällaisista keskusteluista suoraan sellaisille käyttäjille, joita asia saattaisi kiinnostaa.

Eli jos haluat nimetä uudelleen kaikki esimerkiksi kaikki seutu- tai yhdystieluokat, suosittelen viimeksi mainittua tapaa.

Yllä olevat ohjeet ovat jossain määrin yksinkertaistettuja. Tarkempaa tietoa on esimerkiksi sivulla Commons:Rename a category.

Suomalaiset seututieluokat saattaisi olla järkevämpää nimetä Commonsissa uudelleen nimellä Regional road xxx (Finland) National roadin sijasta, koska ensinnäkin ne sijaitsevat luokassa Regional roads in Finland ja toiseksi Regional road on suomeksi seututie, toisin kuin National road, joka tarkoittaa suomeksi valtatietä/kantatietä. Yhdystieluokat kannattaisi taas nimetä muodossa Connecting road xxxx (Finland) ja paikallistieluokat muodossa Local road xxxxx (Finland). Tiemestari (talk) 14:52, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Siinä tapauksessa voit tehdä esityksen luokkien uudelleennimeämisestä. Koska tässä ei ole kyseessä "selvä ja ei-kiistanalainen" muutos, tulee muutos tehdä yllä olevan mukaisesti viimeksi mainitulla tavalla. Koska siirrettäviä luokkia on paljon, sanoisin kuitenkin, että tässä tapauksessa on parasta tehdä esitys alaluokkien uudelleennimeämisestä vain Suomen teiden pääluokan keskustelusivuilla Category talk:Roads in Finland eikä siis käyttää {{Move}}-mallinetta jokaisella siirrettävällä sivulla. Esitys pitäisi tehdä mielellään englanniksi (jotta mahdollisimman moni voi ottaa siihen kantaa), vaikka muidenkin kielten (esim. suomen) käyttö on kyllä käsittääkseni sallittua.

Kun olet tehnyt esityksen, on muilla käyttäjillä sitten mahdollisuus kommentoida sitä. Tähän on hyvä antaa aikaa ainakin pari viikkoa. Pitääkö muuten tuo luokkien uudelleen nimeäminen tehdä aina kuva kerrallaan vai voiko myös koko luokan uudelleennimetä suoraan? Tiemestari (talk) 14:52, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Kyllä ja ei. Periaatteessa jokainen kuva siirretään uuteen luokkaan erikseen, mutta jos luokkien uudelleennimeämiset tekee CommonsDelinkerillä, tekee botti työn automaattisesti. CommonsDelinkerin käyttö on suositeltavaa myös siksi, että silloin Creative Commons -lisenssin vaatimat tiedot luokan aiemmista muokkaajista siirtyvät uuteen luokkaan. CommonsDelinkerissäkin pyyntö on kuitenkin tehtävä erikseen jokaisesta uudelleennimestävästä luokasta mutta ei siis kuvasta. ––Apalsola ^{t • c} 16:27, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Road signs

The other day, I came across signs like File:AS1-CH.png you created. I find these most useful. Thanks for these.

Ordinals on these are shared with signs for interchanges. Category:4.59.1 (road sign, Switzerland) has a few pictures. I'm not sure which numbers are currently in use (an interchange is numbered separately for each highway, but only one number is generally displayed), but having the same range as Category:Diagrams of motorway exit signs of Switzerland (1-99) would probably be useful. SVG images instead of PNG?

Hey, I saw the signs you added to the road network in Bulgaria. Thanks for the work you put into. Can you please however upload SVG files with the same sizes as the already existing pictures. The PNG files look noticeably worse and are not the same sizes, so they do not sit well when placed in a table with the others. Additionally, you could have spared yourself some work by researching which roads there actually are. For example, road 77 does not exist in Bulgaria, so there was no need to add its sign. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Foreigner037 (talk • contribs) 18:17, 7 June 2022 (UTC)

I have searched program to change PNG to SVG for years and never found one. If someone knows good one it is possible to upload SVG. My current programs corrupts fonts/colors when SVG. Tiemestari (talk) 15:01, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
