Geolocs (for Geograph) edit

Hello Tim. If you look here, you'll see that the most generous User:Dschwen fixed up a lot of these in the past. There are only a couple of hundred more Geograph pics left on Wikipedia, so I thought about waiting until they were all moved over before going begging. The geolocation tag and the rest of the stuff is on the back of the geograph image page. If you click on the "Interested in reusing this image?" link - just below the CC license symbol - and scroll down to near the bottom it gives a description, license and geolocation you can paste into the commons upload form. All it needs then are the upload log and categories which Magnus's commonshelper can generate. That's how I do it anyway. Hopefully this makes sense, if not, please let me know! Very cool! That's exactly what I was looking for. There are many more images on Wikipedia from Geograph - some are incorrectly tagged with CC-by-SA 2.5 or CC-by-SA 3.0 and don't use the geograph template. These are the ones that I have been moving over to the commons. I'll have a go at some more when I get the time. --TimTay (talk) 21:16, 18 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Probably I'm stating the obvious, but I use this link to find Geograph pics on enwiki. I fiddled around for a few minutes trying to get it to only show images, but no luck so far. Hope this helps, Angus McLellan (Talk) 10:52, 19 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
