Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

As a courtesy to other editors, it is Commons:Signatures policy to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, deletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then automatically be added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you.

Hi wiki editors: I apologize for my mistaken understanding of OTRS process

Dear friends and vigilant editors:

Had several recent images marked for deletion, deleted, and then I reposted them later because I misunderstood how the OTRS process works. I DID NOT understand/ know that OTRS editors can repost a deleted image once permission is obtained. I thought they had to be reposted and then referenced in the email sent to the permissions address. I am crazy new to this stuff and totally respect your vigilance re: copyright stuff. Definitely not trying to disregard warnings about not posting copyrighted material. Permissions have now been sent to the proper author/photographers and they have agreed over the phone, but have not sent back the correct creative commons release yet.

Hi Marchjuly (Just saw your Thank you for your monitoring of the images I uploaded to the commons and you post on Ellin Beltz talk page. Reposting here to you for clarification. I am very new to this part of wikipedia (image permissions) and still figuring out how to properly document permission (which is why I reposted the images). My intent is not to disregard the editing that editors are doing. I think I've just made a mistake in not putting the OTRS pending tag on the images. I have sent permissions request to the creators and they agreed to share the images, but I didn't give them the correct form so I should have documentation very soon. I apologize. I am a graduate student at the university of utah and this is for a project i'm working on for an architecture and urban design thesis. These are not commercial posts. Please advise if I should not post these while the permissions are pending. I was under the impression they could stay up until the ticket is referenced.I am also not totally sure I'm doing the talk thing right here so again please forgive my incompetence in advance.
