Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at the copyright village pump.

Goodies, tips, and tricks

Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads.
Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~.
To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg.
You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account.

Moin, bitte beachten, dass auf Commons die meisten Kategorien auf Englisch benannt sind. Schau dir z. B. bitte mal dein Foto File:Glück Kieswerk Planegg Kiesabbau und Wiederverfüllung mit Bauschutt 04.jpg an, dort sind fast ausschließlich deutsche Kategorien angegeben, die aber alle nicht existieren. Das macht dann so keinen Sinn, weil keiner in inexistenten Kategorien navigiert. Wenn du Dateien kategorisieren willst, dann schau bitte nach, wie die passenden Kategorien tatsächlich heißen. Man kann dazu z. B. den deutschen Artikel zu einem Begriff aufrufen und dort bei den Weblinks zur Commons-Kategorie wechseln. Falsche Kategorien zu verwenden verursacht auf lange Sicht erhebliche Mehrarbeit für andere Benutzer, wenn diese das korrigieren wollen. Viele Grüße, XenonX3 (talk) 21:33, 18 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Innenaufnahmen von St. Benedikt (Ebenhausen, Schäftlarn) edit

Hallo, du hast einige Innenaufnahmen der Kirche St. Benedikt in Ebenhausen hochgeladen. Die Kirche wurde 1965 vollendet; der Architekt war Hans Heps, der 1994 gestorben ist. Daher habe ich bei der Quelle leichte Zweifel an deiner Angabe {{Own}} und tippe eher auf {{Self-photographed}}; also müsste WC zumindest für die Bilder des Altarfreskos und der Glasbilder eine Rechteübertragung haben. Hast du so etwas, das du dem Volunteer Response Team einreichen könntest? Bis jetzt gibt es bei den Bildern keinen entsprechenden Vermerk.

Ohne Freigabe der Rechteinhaber müssten wir noch ein paar Jahrzehnte warten, bis wir die Bilder freigeben können.

Danke! Ja, so ist es genauer und richtiger; aber das Hauptproblem ist, dass in Deutschland die Panoramafreiheit nur für die Außenseite von Gebäuden gilt. Für Kunstwerke im Inneren, wie das Altarfresko und die Innenseite der Fenster, brauchen wir die Zustimmung des Rechteinhabers. Dass die Kirche inzwischen profaniert wurde, macht vermutlich keinen Unterschied; aber es könnte sein, dass statt einer kirchlichen Stelle nun eine gemeindliche Stelle Rechte an den Kunstwerken genießt. Der eigentliche Urheber, ob nun Hans Heps oder jemand anderer, bleibt davon natürlich unberührt. Aber ich habe im Moment den Kopf nicht frei, um der Sache genauer nachzugehen. Es kann sein, dass jemand zu einigen – nicht allen – Bildern in der Kategorie einen Löschantrag stellt. Wenn in einigen Jahrzehnten die Schutzfristen ablaufen, kann man die Bilder wiederherstellen. Dazu kann man sie jetzt in Kategorien wie Undelete in 2065 einstellen (lassen). -- Renardo la vulpo (talk) 19:58, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Müssen alle Bilder vom Deutschen Museum gelöscht werden?

Ich habe gerade eine Reihe weiterer Bilder nominieren müssen, leider, siehe Commons:Deletion requests/Several files in Category:Sonderausstellung Wahnsinn Illegale Autorennen (Exhibition). Bei Bildern aus Museen (in Deutschland, anderswo gelten anderere Regeln) ist es so, dass die Bilder keine abgeleiteten Werke von urheberrechtlich geschützten Werken sein dürfen. Das heisst insbesondere, du darfst keine Bilder von andereren Bildern hier hochladen, weil Fotografien urheberrechtlich geschützt sind. Die Bilder der Beschreibungen sind ebenfalls problematisch, weil die Texte ebenfalls lang genug sein dürften, um urheberrechtlichen Schutz zu geniessen. Technische Exponate, die keine Kunst darstellen (hier also zum Beispiel das zerstörte Auto), sind dagegen in der Regel unproblematisch. Deshalb sind auch viele Bilder aus dem Deutschen Museum möglich.

Wenn diese Ausstellung von der Berliner Polizei zusammengestellt wurde, dann könntest du natürlich versuchen, von ihnen eine Freigabe zu erhalten. Da die Polizei wahrscheinlich an der Verbreitung der Inhalte interessiert ist, könnte ich mir sogar vorstellen, dass das klappt. Hinweise zum Vorgehen findest du bei COM:VRT/de. Moment, warte noch! Pressebilder sind leider oft nicht "frei genug" für Commons. Hier dürften nur Bilder hochgeladen werden, die vom Rechteinhaber für jede Weiterverwendung lizenziert wurden. Eine Namensnennung kann verlangt werden, aber keine weiteren Einschränkungen. Schau dir die Textvorlagen an, die du unter Commons:E-Mail-Vorlagen findest. Damit alles seine Richtigkeit hat, werden eigentlich nur Freigaben akzeptiert, die mit so einer Vorlage erteilt wurden.

Ja, ich weiss das ist kompliziert und teilweise auch ernüchternd, weil es gewisse gute Bilder von der Verwenung ausschliesst. Umgekehrt ist es dadurch aber möglich, die Bilder auf Commons für beliebige Zwecke weiterzuverwenden. PaterMcFly (talk) 19:27, 13 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

vielen Dank für die Frage.

Die Kategorie hat mir gefehlt, als ich in Wikipedia bei Individualverkehr auf Motorisierten Individualverkehr gestoßen bin.

Mir ist aufgefallen das Straßen in WikiCommon oft garnicht selber dargestellt werden, sondern nur markante Gebäude an dieser Straße.

Das Straßenbild im öffentlichen Raum wie Städten/Wohngebieten ist aber inzwischen stark geprägt durch beidseitig vollständig zugeparkte Fahrbahnränder. Auf den Straßen finden sich, gerade am WE, ausschließlich private motorisierte Fahrzeuge, meist nur mit einer Person an Bord. Das heißt, die Verkehrsflächen (Parkplätze, Fahrbahnen) sind durch motorisierten Individualverkehr belegt.

Die Fußwege werden vermehrt durch Motorräder, Motorroller und E-Scooter belegt.

Im Gegensatz dazu verschwindet der 'unmotorisierte Individualverkehr' oft auf schmalen Fuß- und Radwegen.

Eine Kategorie 'Transport' hingegen beinhaltet für mich auch öffentliche Verkehrsmittel wie Auto, LKW, Bus, Bahn, Flugzeug und Schiff.

Gerade durch die steigende Zahl an Zulassungen in Deutschland (>48Mio) wird der Faktor "motorisierter Individualverkehr" immer wichtiger und verdient eine eigene Kategorie, denke ich.

In einer Enzyklopädie wie Wikipedia/Commons sollte doch die aktuelle Realität für Zeitgenossen sowie für kommende Generationen dargestellt werden.

Mittels einer expliziten Kategorie kann sich jeder schnell ein anschauliches Bild von dem abstrakten Begriff "Individualverkehr" und die nmittelbaren Folgen für Mensch und Stadtbild machen.

Ich hoffe diese Begründung zur Kategorie "motorisierter Individualverkehr" ist ebenso anschaulich wie die Bilder :)

How to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category edit

When you want to ask for speedy-delete of an empty category, best practice is to mark it with {{SD|C2}} if it would be OK to re-create it in the future, given that appropriate content becomes available or {{SD|C1}} if it is an inappropriate category name that should not be reused. In particular, this is better practice than just blanking the category page, as you did at Category:Streets in Mölln. ("C1" and "C2" come from Commons:Criteria for speedy deletion).
