Sega Saturn

Hi Yaca, I just noticed the photos of Sega Saturn processors you uploaded to Commons. They seem to be in mint condition and don't seem to be soldered off a Saturn PCB. Where did you obtain these chips? Bye, --Abdull 17:36, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

S-1990 info

Hi Yaca2671! I'm an Italian boy very fond of MSX, I saw your Wiki page regarding S-1990. I don't know how to contact you and this is (afaik) the only way I can try, I'm sorry if I'm disturbing wiki's users.

SFC and N64 Motherboard Pictures

Hi Yaca2671, I just wondered if you possibly have any high resolution pictures or scans of the whole motherboard (front and back) for the Super Famicom ( SNS-CPU-RGB-01) and Japanese N64 (NUS-CPU-01)? Also, may I ask what the serial number is of your NUS-CPU-01 N64, and SNS-CPU-RGB-01 SFC consoles? I only ask as I am particularly interested in studying all the different motherboard revisions such as the NUS-CPU-01 and NUS-CPU-02 N64 motherboards which were only available in Japan (the USA launched N64 with NUS-CPU-03 motherboard)and I think the Japanese Super Famicom and USA SNES's are the only regions where you can follow traces on the back of the board - PAL regions have green/brown paint covering the back of the board. Brown paint and under the copper shield are very thin. it's almost VCC or GND layer.

If you need remove the brown layer , it rub with the edge of the retractable knife's side(OLFA cutter etc). You can remove easy. I have two version(revision) SNES

Hi Yaca2671,
Just wanted to say thank you so much for all the scans and information :o) They are fantastic and have really helped me with a few projects/ideas I was working on.
I thought about scraping the green/brown noise shield layer but it would be very tricky to do it without damaging the traces/SMT components. If only I could find consoles near me for $3-$5!

Camera and Scanner

Hi Yaca2671, I just wondered what camera and scanner models you use to take such clear pictures? Or do you have a special setup? I am particularly impressed with your pictures of the Super Famicom and N64 motherboards and would like to make scans like that myself, so just wondered what model of scanner you use? Hi,Link83,My scanner model is GT-9700F made by EPSON(Seiko EPSON).

It is old,low cost scanner.I bought it about 8000yen(about 95US$) in akihabara.

Digital camera is EOS kiss Digital-N(CANON) and normal lens,UV cut filter.It is already old camera.

The digital camera before used FinePix4900Z of Fuji Photo Film co.

When taking picture with the scanner,differences of the height of parts become problems.

It takes a picture with the digital camera when focus is not suitable.

If anybody else reads this in the future it might be helpful to know that the Epson GT-9700F was renamed the Epson Perfection 2450 in the USA and Europe. Apparently the Epson Perfection 3170/GT-9400UF also has a good 'depth of field' like GT-9700F and it has a higher resolution, so it might also be a good model for 'scanography':-
