Thank you for uploading images on Commons.

Please add your images to appropriative pages and/or categories where other users could easily find them. For example to Category:People of Israel.

Please use Zero0000 instead of plain PD.

Wow edit

Thanks for putting that image of Bethlehem's entrance up - it says a lot. The Qalandia checkpoint is also turning into a cage entrance as you probably have seen... 128.231.88.4 15:26, 25 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Zero0000!

Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

File:AzzamInterview.jpg edit

Hi. I've nominated this image for speedy deletion as a copyright problem. As the licensing tag that you applied (Template:PD-Egypt) indicates, to be hosted in Commons content must be public domain in its own country and in the United States. I'm afraid that a newspaper published in 1947 misses the deadline; to be public domain in the United States, it would have had to have been published in 1946. Since it wasn't, it is copyrighted for 95 years after publication. While there is some challenge to the US law that makes this true, unless the courts repeal it I'm afraid that's the reality we're stuck with. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:01, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

The links for the sources for this map seem to be broken as of today. The UNISPAL website may just be down temporarily, or it may have moved entirely. Thanks! SwnyMac (talk) 02:32, 22 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

It must have been a temporary glitch. All of the links look ok to me now. Zero0000 (talk) 15:59, 24 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi edit

So the deletion request of 1920 map was denied because of COM:INUSE. The map is so wrong on so many levels it just can't be used around here. --Makeandtoss (talk) 08:02, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

As a matter of fact I did try to remove the map from the Arabic wikipedia around 6 months ago, I got confronted by an admin who removed my editing privileges ː) . --Makeandtoss (talk) 08:20, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:EmekHefer1937.png. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with GFDL to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with PD-self to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Fixed. I had used the obsolete UKGov instead of the correct PD-UKGov. Zero0000 (talk) 10:31, 25 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Aqaba plan edit

Hi. I see that someone has messed up your captions inside the map/plan, with horrible spelling mistakes. I don't know how to replace his misspelled maps with your original map. Can you? Maybe changing the fonts would keep him from reverting. Cheers, Arminden (talk) 15:33, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

You might want to consider rewording: "Roman-Byzantine Aila" (hyphen rather than slash, as it existed in both periods), and maybe "Old Aqaba", "Old Town of Aqaba", "Aqaba, the Old Town" or alike, rather than "Old Aqaba town" (n.b.: you opted for capitalising all initials). Thanks, Arminden (talk) 16:25, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

A barnstar for you! edit

For creating a new map for Israel that includes their disputed territories. Excellent work! Israel's Wikipedia article needed this map badly, to bring it in in line with all of our other country articles, which also shows each countries' disputed territories (such as Russia, China, and Morocco).
