English: Alfred Eisenstaedt (1898 – 1995) — a renowned photographer and photojournalist in Germany and the United States.

Born in the German West Prussia town of Dirschau (Tczew), in the present day Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Because of oppression in Nazi Germany as a Jewish artist, he emigrated to the United States in 1935.
A United States National Medal of Arts recipient.
