The Elmer Holmes Bobst Library at 70 Washington Square South between LaGuardia Place and Schwartz Plaza in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York, is the main library of New York University. It was built in 1972 and was designed by Philip Johnson and Richard Foster in a "free neo-Classical" style. The building extends to West 3rd Street. (Source: AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.))
