Elm Bluff Plantation, also known as the John Jay Crocheron House, in rural Dallas County, Alabama on the Alabama River. It was built in 1845 and is a very unusual design for a Greek Revival style house in Alabama. The Alabama Historical Commission has made some attempts at stabilizing the structure.

John Jay Crocheron was born on August 21, 1795 in Staten Island, New York. He was the son of John Crocheron and Johanna Houseman. Crocheron had relocated to Alabama by the 1820s. He was elected as one of 12 directors for the Bank of Alabama in 1823 and 1824. He established a large plantation of several thousand acres in Dallas County on the Alabama River across from Cahaba and built this house in the center of it. He never married and died here on October 17, 1864. The house has never been wired for electricity or had any plumbing added. It has been abandoned for many decades.

The "eyebrow" or "tummy-on-the-floor" windows, the series of third-floor windows in the frieze of the building, can also be found in the David LaTourette House (circa 1836), in Staten Island, New York. The "eyebrow" windows are exceedingly rare for Alabama buildings of this period, the ones on Crocheron's house were originally partially obscured from view by wooden screens with a Greek key motif. The David LaTourette House was the home of John Jay Crocheron's sister, Ann Crocheron LaTourette. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and currently serves as the clubhouse for the LaTourette Golf Course.
