She was a gold star mother, her son, Louis Julius Freudenberg (1894-1918) died in World War I, leaving her with 8 living children. (b. March 25, 1860; Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA - d. February 9, 1935; Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey, USA) She married Max S. Freudenberg. Her letter to the New Jersey War History Bureau is preserved in the NJ State Archives.
