The Gauri Shankar temple of Dashal village in Kullu valley, Himachal Pradesh is a 9th century Shaiva–Shakti tradition temple. During the colonial era, it was estimated to an 11th century temple, but the discovery of copper plate grants suggest that the temple already existed in early 10th century. The temple has notable sculpture of Vishnu with his Garuda vahana, Kartikeya, Ganesha, Ganga, Yamuna and Durga Mahusasuramardini. The Durga sculpture is from the 18th century.
The temple has a square plan and Nagara architecture. The outer surface is carved. Like the Nagar temple, this temple also has two bands of niches. Only the upper band has carvings and these are Vedic and Puranic Hindu deities. The lower band may have had artwork panels, but these are now lost. A notable feature of this Gaurishankar temple is that Shaiva dvarapalas stand by the side of Ganga and Yamuna goddesses that flank the entrance.
A small couchant Nandi sits outside the temple, facing the sanctum.
