English: Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple is located on the corner of 3rd Street and Central Avenue in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. The Los Angeles temple was originally built on 4th Street in 1904 as Rafu Bukkyokai (the Los Angeles Buddhist Mission). It was renamed in 1921 when it became a branch of Higashi Honganji. It was moved multiple times (in 1907, 1911 and 1926) until it settled at the current location in 1976.
