English: The Joliet Iron and Steel Works was an industrial operation in Joliet, Illinois. It opened in 1869 and was owned by the Joliet Iron and Steel Company, then the Illinois Steel Company, which became Federal Steel, one of the original companies that merged into U.S. Steel. At least some of the ruins are now the Joliet Iron Works Historic Site owned by the Forest Preserve District of Will County.
