English: The La Valencia Hotel at 1132 Prospect Street in La Jolla, San Diego, Californbia, opened in 1926 as an apartment hotel, and was named "La Valencia" in 1928. It expanded in the 1940s and 1950s, and also acquired the La Cabrillo Hotel next door – built in 1908 and opened in 1909, and now called the West Wing – during this time. (Source: Hotel website)
