If I think of it, the differences between 'vigil' and 'memorial' are subtle: In vigils, people come carrying candles and leave at the end of an event; while in memorials, candles are brought and placed to designated or improvised places of memorial. -Mardus /talk 02:03, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
