Date of construction

At Historylink, Paul Dorpat says this was opened in 1861: https://www.historylink.org/File/7081. However, at http://pcad.lib.washington.edu/building/4550/, Alan Michelson (Pacific Coast Architecture Database - PCAD) acknowledges that Dorpat says that, but seems to think he is wrong. As Michelson notes, {w|Clarence Bagley}} is pretty specific about who founded the hotel and when. Maybe Dorpat has some other, better source besides Bagley, but he cites nothing, and Bagley is generally the main secondary source for this period of Seattle history.

Unlike most of Dorpat's work, that particular HistoryLink essay looks pretty slapdash to me, so I'm going with Bagley and Michelson. - Jmabel ! talk 00:05, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
